BENGALURU: Terming the drone technology-related proposals for the agricultural sector in the Union Budget 2022 as revolutionary, home-grown unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) specialist Paras Aerospace said the progressive measures will eliminate social barriers in the agricultural sector across the country, especially among the marginal and small farmers.
“We are delighted with the introduction of drone tech to the farming sector. Kisan drones can eliminate the risky trend of spraying insecticides on crops, reduce the cost of farming and enhance the yield for farmers at a fraction of the cost,” said Pankaj Akula, CEO of Paras Aerospace, which has several farmer-friendly drones in its product portfolio.
At present, aerial spraying of insecticides and pesticides in India is restricted. Moreover, farmers have to spray the insecticides or nutrients themselves as well as through labor, which is expensive and risky. “Imagine, if a village comes together to hire a drone to spray insecticide or nutrients, the job will be done in less time and lesser cost, reduced by as much as 50% of the current practice,” pointed out Pankaj.
Abolition of manual labor in spraying pesticides is a big step in reducing the social barriers, according to Pankaj, who said the scope for Kisan drones is immense, as it has the potential to improve the socio-economic conditions of the farming community.
Drones can be deployed at every stage of farming, starting from analyzing and conducting a feasibility study of growing a particular crop. Drones can be used for digital scouting of crops to identify insect-infested areas in 30 minutes unlike the present whole day required to spot crops infected by pests. Subsequently, an aerial spray of nutrients or leaf supplements can be carried out in a few minutes.
“The government has unlocked the true potential of drone technology for farmers and it is a viable option. We are excited with the opportunity presented to indigenous companies like Paras,” added Pankaj
4th Feb is World Cancer Day and this year’s theme is ‘ Close The Care Gap’ … realising People living with cancer regardless of race ,gender, ethicinity socioeconomic status ,new technologies of cancer therapies should be accessible and affordable for everyone .
For all of these reasons, the theme for this year’s World Cancer Day is “closing the care gap
Closing The care gap
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to raise worldwide attention and inspire action for a cancer-free population.
we are stronger together ! Supporting the FiGHTERS , admiring the SURVIVORS , honoring the Taken and never giving up hope !
Cancer is one of the world’s leading causes of death, and its burden is growing. In 2021, the world crossed a new threshold – an estimated 20 million people were diagnosed with cancer, and 10 million died. These numbers will continue to rise in the decades ahead. And yet all cancers can be treated, and many can be prevented . Cancer mortality can be reduced if cases are detected and treated early.
Cancer can be eradicated through early detection of cancer and appropriate treatment and care of patients who develop cancer.
Many cancers have a high chance of cure if diagnosed early and treated appropriately. Said Dr Ashu shah Director of Asian Health care .
She said our ASC Foundation efforts are focused on breast cancer , cervical cancer, Lung cancer and childhood cancer . All cancer can be eliminated easily by early detection and screening. Dr Ashu shah said solutions are complex which is why we are glad to partner with Intass oncology to raise awareness and address these challenges .
There are two components of Early detection :
Early cancer is more likely to respond to treatment and can result in a greater probability of survival and less morbidity, as well as less physical ,mental and financial suffering. Early detection of Cancer can also reduces Chances of serious and more painful therapies that are needed in later stages .
There are two major enabling factors for early detection .
1 Education and Awareness to promote early diagnosis.
2.Screening tests to detect them early .
Screening is the basic important element of comprehensive cancer prevention and control but decisions on what to include in a cancer programme
I always emphasize that The best examiners are You in You. It is said to notice symptoms like lump in the breasts . Unfortunately it is presented at late stages . It is time to wake up.The best time to examine your breast every month is immediately after your periods .
This World Cancer Day , my appeal / request to GOI ( Govt . Of India ) is to provide Free Mammogram and HPV ( Human papillomavirus virus ) vaccination to all and It is high time our leaders should raise the awareness and provide free Mammogram facility in all Government hospitals instead of women getting it done at private hospitals as most of them are not in a position to pay .
Mainly the government hospitals should have free mammogram facilities to all which helps in curbing this dreaded disease with earlier detection.
We are now in an age where new technology and care counter cancer’s fatality
Let us pledge to create awareness and unite in this fight against cancers and close the care gap!

Using Nitric Oxide as a therapeutic measure can be a successful, rapid, and affordable gamechanger in the fight against the pandemic
KOCHI / January 04, 2022: In a study involving doctors from the Amrita Hospital, Kochi, and scientists from the School of Biotechnology at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, a novel intervention for Covid-19 has been explored with the well-known gas Nitric Oxide (NO). This gas has for many years been used worldwide for the treatment of medical conditions like the Blue Baby Syndrome and for treatment of heart or lung transplant patients. The study conducted by the Amrita scientists has found that inhaled Nitric Oxide (iNO) is virucidal and kills SARS-COV-2 virus, apart from preventing its effective attachment to human host cells. In the feasibility trial conducted at Amrita Hospital, Covid-19 patients who received the iNO therapy recovered faster with lesser complications and zero mortality rates compared to patients who received the standard Covid-19 treatment without iNO.
Speaking on the idea behind conducting trials with this novel treatment, Prof. Bipin Nair, Dean, Life Sciences at Amrita School of Biotechnology, said: “our interest in looking at Nitric Oxide as a treatment option for Covid-19 stemmed from an early study conducted by a Swedish group which had suggested that the gas can prove effective in curbing the SARS-COV-2 virus, as it induces biochemical changes which directly affect the spike protein of the virus. This protein is the main culprit in interacting with our body’s receptors and immune system and creating havoc.”
The team of experts at Amrita Hospital headed by Dr. Aveek Jayant, Dr. Dipu T.S and Dr. Merlin Moni, decided to conduct this trial on a small group of Covid patients admitted at Amrita Hospital. Out of the 25 patients selected for the study, 14 were given iNO along with standard treatment for Covid-19, while 11 patients were in the Control standard treatment group. The patients treated with iNO showed a significant drop in their viral load. According to these doctors at the Amrita Hospital.
This approach to repurpose Nitric Oxide has the potential to be an effective preventative, especially in light of the highly infectious nature of the Omicron variant prevalent today.
Said Dr. Geetha Kumar of the Amrita School of Biotechnology, “as the global search for an effective remedy against Covid continues, this strategy to use Nitric Oxide as a therapeutic measure has the scope to be a successful, rapid and affordable gamechanger in the fight against the pandemic. It is conceivable that healthcare workers, who are constantly exposed to the coronavirus, could also use this as a prophylactic while treating infected patients.”
The study by Amrita Hospital successfully demonstrates the putative role of repurposed inhaled Nitric Oxide in hypoxemic Covid-19 patients. The expert panel associated with the study now calls for an extended validation to take this treatment process to the next level.
The study conducted by Amrita scientists has now been published at https://journals.lww.com/imd/Abstract/9000/Clinical_Efficacy_of_Inhaled_Nitric_Oxide_in.99925.aspx The expert panel of doctors from Amrita Hospital and scientists from the Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, associated with the study included Dr. Aveek Jayant, Head, Dept. of Cardiac Anaesthesiology; Dr. Merlin Mony, and Dr. Dipu TS, Dept. of Infectious Diseases; Dr. Veena Menon, Dept. of Virology, Dr. Geetha Kumar and Dr. Indulekha Pillai and Dr. Bipin Nair, from the Amrita School of Biotechnology; and Dr. Georg Gutjahr, from the varsity’s Centre for Research in Analytics & Technologies for Education. Dr. Victor Nizet, Professor & Vice Chair for Basic Research at The University of California, San Diego, USA was also closely associated with the study.
