Aims to invest over Rs 80 crores in the next five years

Bangalore, October 12, 2021: Supreem Pharmaceuticals Mysore Pvt. Ltd. today announced the launch of Supreem Super Foods, a healthy superfoods brand. At the launch, S.N. Rao, Chairman & MD of Supreem unveiled 19 products for Health Management, Performance Beverages & Foods along with Lifestyle Management Products.

Mr. S.N. Rao said Supreem Pharma is getting into Superfoods with a vision to fill the void that exists in the nutrition intake to enhance healthy living. The Company has dived deep into the science of food and has developed products which will help to fill the gap.

Supreem Pharmaceuticals Mysore Pvt. Ltd. achieved a turnover of Rs. 68 Crores last financial year. The growth CAGR has been over 20% Turnover & profitability over the last 5 years. This financial year with the launch of consumer products division Supreem Super Foods the company hopes to achieve a combined turnover of around Rs. 90-100 Crores. Supreem Pharmaceuticals is investing over Rs. 25 Crores over next 5 years to build the Consumer business to achieve a CAGR of over 30% in the next 5 years to reach a combined turnover of Rs. 250+ Crores with both the divisions giving approximately equal share to the business and consumer business.

These products are made from natural ingredients which aim to boost healthy living with no side effects.

Speaking at the press conference to announce the launch of this new range, S.N. Rao, Chairman & MD of Supreem said “Healthy living is the need of the hour. Everything we do is motivated by our desire to be healthy and happy. There can be no substitute for this. Supreem Super Foods is on a mission to raise the bar for healthy living by combining innovation, experience, and vision. We have developed & are further researching smart, sustainable Superfoods. Living Healthy is essential and this can be ensured by optimal physical, mental, and healthy food habits.”

He also added, “Through the launch of this new consumer division, we aim to invest over Rs 80 crores over the next three years. This would lead to a direct and indirect employment to a tune of 1500 – 2000 during this period.”

Supreem Super Foods aims to expand their product range by the end of this financial year to over 50 products and over 100 products by the end of next financial year.

It’s raining jobs at CMR University

CMRU placements outperform the pandemic, with 100% of eligible students getting placed on campus.

Bengaluru: The Pandemic blues have raised many concerns, including the shrinking of the job market. But when it comes to CMR University students, the campus recruitments has not been affected. The university has placed all of eligible students in top multinational companies.

As many as 120 top multinational companies, through their virtual mode, have recruited students from this university. Blending academic education with skill is the plus point for the students of CMRU. The recruitment also indicates that the university is into providing industry-driven education to its MBA and other discipline students, according to a press statement by the university. 

Some of the companies which chose to pick CMRU students are Cerner Corporation India, Bosch Ltd, Capgemini India, Infosys Limited, Simplilearn, Zomato India, Bajaj Allianz, KPMG India, Wipro, SLK Software, Flipkart India Pvt Ltd, HP Enterprise Ltd, Thomson Reuters India Pvt. Ltd etc.,

It is a sort of “believe it or not” story. Subbaiah KK, a fresh MBA graduate from CMRU, has got a pay package of Rs 7 lakh per annum, while Ashutosh Kumar, Caleb S, Hani Syed, and Akhil Hari have been able to secure Rs 6 lakh per annum. On average, to a fresher in the MBA stream, the pay given is Rs 4.3 lakh. In the BBA category, some students have been offered Rs 6 lakh annually. In the B.Tech category, a CMRU graduate has been able to get Rs 11 lakh per annum. 

Subbaiah, who is happy with the offer, says, “I am happy that I could grab the opportunity given by the college during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. The company which has recruited me has recognised my talent.”. Caleb S says that CMRU has offered many opportunities, even during the pandemic, for students to pursue their education and develop their skills. “The placement department of the varsity has always stood by us. It has helped us to get lucrative jobs, “he said. 

Akhil Hari, another lucky student to get a job offer, says CMRU, despite being a young university, has offered tremendous support during the peak of the Pandemic. “I am happy about my placement package,” he added. 

It is not just all eligible students who have got placements, the salaries offered to the candidates are also better than in pre-covid times. This is true for the marketing discipline students. 

Without a doubt, the pandemic has harmed the placement prospects of the 2020 batch. However, in the last 8 to 10 months, the market is opened up. Hiring has begun both due to demand and attrition. Employers have hired two to threefold higher than their average hiring volumes. Learning the lessons during the lockdown and subsequent slowdown of the economy, the CMRU prepared the students, sharpened their skills, and enabled efficient placements for them.

Organized by Salve Regina Charitable Trust, with the support of Hosmat Hospital, Rotary Metro, Catholic Doctors Association & the Indian Red Cross Society. The drive was successful with around 250 participated in the divine blood donation camp.

10th OF OCTOBER – WORLD HOMELESS DAY

“Home” is a place that can be wholeheartedly called as one’s own keeping alive memories that are made along with family is something cannot be accessed by all due to social & economic deprivation. Homeless are the ones who live in “the open or roadside, pavements, in hume-pipes, under fly-over and staircases or in the open in places of worship, mandaps, railway platforms etc”. But the amount of contribution the homeless population makes is incredible for they work as Cleaners in food industry, construction workers, waste pickers, street vendors, Head loaders, etc. hence we call them Citymakers who are invisible to the mainstream of society & often fall under unorganized sector.

There are 1.77 million homeless people in India, or 0.15% of the country’s total population, according to the 2011 census consisting of single men, women, mothers, the elderly, and the disabled. A recent survey of the homeless commissioned by BBMP in partnership with civil society organisations in November 2019 identified 4128 homeless (of who 22% are women and 3% are children). Now with Covid 19 pandemic the number of unemployed people and the homeless have increased.

Acknowledging their presence they are recognized all over the world on 10th of Oetober every year with the intention that the society can start recognizing their contribution. And therefore it is organized in the Bengaluru city to draw the attention of Government, ULB & the society.

We would like to draw the attention of the government and the general society through this press release:

The recent High Court order of 22d July’2021 to put up 84 shelters in Bengaluru & another 82 in other cities of Kamataka are welcomed as the Homeless can get a dignified life. Along with numbers quality of shelters and Rights of the Homeless are equally important.

The CSOS working on the issue demand the following points to be followed by the Government.

1. Government to frame guidelines to run the DAY-SUH program effectively by adopting NULM revised (2018) guidelines. 2 Need to form the Executive Committee under the chairpersonship of Municipal Commissioner for płanning and overseeing the working of shelters. In the cities less than a Million Deputy Commissioner may be given the lead. 3. Shelters shoukd be with rehabilitative services as per the NULM guidelines. NULM provides for range of services. However, most shelters are not yet offering those rehabilitative services. Our goal is to pursue not only for shelters but for shelters with rehabilitative services as per the already available provisions. 4. National Policy on Urban Homelessness. We require an all-inclusive poliey on Urban Homelessness. Any response as tokenism is not acceptable. It must be organized formal response and it is critical that there is a national policy that guides and drives all goverment interventions, programs and schemes 5. One third of the shelters should be dedicated to the old, sick and mentally ill homeless.

6. The shelters should be located near their work sites as far as possible or transportation facility should be arranged. 7. Need shelters attached to every Government hospital for the caretakers of poor patients. At present the care takers sleep on corridors and foot paths. 8. 10th October should be Declared as World Homeless Day. 9. Inclusion of Homeless citizens in voting Rights & Aadhar card & other government entitlement. Process should be simplified for the Homeless as they do not have a permanent address. 10. Enumeration of urban homeless in the coming census should be made without fail. 11. Repeal of Beggary Laws that criminalize homelessness in multiple ways. Several states in the country have beggary prevention legislations. All these laws are more or less similar in their approach towards the poor and homeless; they criminalize and punish people for being on the streets, being a destitute or having mental health issues. Informal sectors workers, daily wage laborer, ete. are all vulnerable for punitive action against them. The way Beggary has been defined under the law; it risks every homeless citizen. Unless we get these laws repealed, we will have our homeless citizens getting arrested and detained for years.
