In continuation of the Freedom Drive with the newly unveiled Mahindra XUV700 (pronounced as XUV, 7 double ‘Oh’) the truly majestic convoy rolled into buzzing city of Bengaluru.  The Freedom Drive is conceptualized to celebrate the XUV700 and will travel across 20 cities over the next 25 days in a convoy of 80 vehicles distributed across North & West, South and East regions. Flagged off from the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai on September 4, 2021, the XUV700 convoy will have pit stops in key cities where one can see the vehicle in its glory merged with the unique canvas that each city offers. An ancient The first ever Murugan Mandala Vaatika at the Art of Living International Center in Bangalore will be unveiled on 11th September, 2021 in the presence of global spiritual master and founder of The Art of Living, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The unveiling ceremony will also be attended by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, VC, University of Agriculture Sciences and Dr. BNS Murthy, Director, Center Institute of Horticulture along with other dignitaries. Gurudev would bless the ceremony by planting 6 plants of the Murugan Mandala Vaatika. The Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Trust (SSIAST) which has trained over 22 lakh farmers in natural farming and has pioneered indigenous seed banks has added another first to its list of achievements by reviving the lost art of garden systems known as Mandala Vaatika which is a science in itself. The Art of Living has researched original Sanskrit texts, consulted Vedic scholars and Quantum physicists for several years under the guidance of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to revive the lost science and authentic knowledge of the Mandala Vaatika. CMRU Law Students Celebrate Literacy Day

Bengaluru: The School of Legal Studies, CMR University on Wednesday conducted International Literacy Day to create awareness regarding the significance of literacy for social and human development.

The theme of this year’s International Literacy Day is: Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide. UNESCO, on October 26, declared September 8 as Literacy Day to combat the worldwide issue of illiteracy. Literacy serves as a tool to empower individuals and communities.

The students of the School of Legal Studies (SOLS) took many creative ways on online platforms to drive home the theme.  As digital platforms have become crucial for learning, the students focused their activities and discussions on how digital literacy could be spread to reduce the digital divide. The participants, while giving very interesting insight on the subject, pointed out that how the COVID-19 pandemic season showed that education should help in learning human values.

The students discussed how digital literacy can open up opportunities for learning as well as for being an entrepreneur. The other issues that came up for discussion included the magnitude of poverty, the effects of illiteracy, gender inequality, child mortality, and the ever increasing human population.

CMR University reiterated its commitment to empowering its students through various innovative learning methods. The Literacy Day celebration is one such initiative.
