A key focus of the conference is to present the community’s demands in a united voice to secure fair and rightful representation in various government departments, boards, corporations, and the political arena. The conference underscores the belief that positive and lasting change is possible through unity, strength, and collective action.
This national-level conference will serve as a significant forum for women’s empowerment, internal cohesion of the community, and for defining the future direction and strategic path of the Arya Ediga community.

Karnataka Arya Ediga Women’s Association
Background of Establishment
With the vision that “education is the foundation of comprehensive community development,” the Ediga Association was established in 1944 with the aim of promoting education among the youth of the community. The state-level conferences held in 1958 and 1962 played a crucial role in laying a strong foundation for unity among various sub-groups of the community based on occupational equality.

Through sustained efforts in education, organization, and social development, the community has continued its journey toward holistic progress. Recognizing the need for a dedicated and structured support system for the education of girl students, the Karnataka Arya Ediga Women’s Association was founded in 1988 under the leadership of noted social worker Dr. Nalinakshi Sannappa.
Key Objectives of the Association
Providing education, scholarships, and hostel facilities for girls
Supporting rehabilitation and welfare of poor and destitute women.
Promoting professional education and employment opportunities
Supporting the movement against dowry, encouraging simple marriages, and advocating remarriage of widows
Offering family counseling, legal assistance, and social security support.

The Association has expanded its activities across Karnataka, establishing branches in regions including Shivamogga, Sagara, Nagamangala, and Hunsur. Through hostels, owned buildings, and a wide range of social service initiatives, the Association continues to work tirelessly toward women’s empowerment.
From a Strong Foundation to a Progressive Future.
The strong and stable foundation built through the dedication and sacrifices of senior members has today become a source of strength for the Association. Through leadership training, organizational development, and mentorship, responsibilities are being successfully passed on to the younger generation of women leaders.

Facing contemporary social challenges with determination, the Karnataka Arya Ediga Women’s Association continues its journey with a firm commitment to elevate its legacy of service and contribute meaningfully to the progress of society.
