Apollo Cradle & MSD Pharmaceuticals Launch ‘Together for Her Well-being’ to Promote Women’s Health Awareness

Doctors emphasize preventive care, vaccinations, and routine screenings for improved reproductive health

Bengaluru, March 13, 2025 – Apollo Cradle & Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with MSD Pharmaceuticals, has launched Together for Her Well-being, an initiative aimed at empowering women with knowledge about self-care and preventive healthcare measures. With cervical cancer being the second most common cancer among Indian women, leading gynecologists from Apollo Cradle emphasized the importance of vaccinations, regular screenings, and proactive health management.

According to recent data, India recorded over 1.5 lakh new cases of HPV-related cancers in 2022, highlighting the urgent need for preventive healthcare. The initiative focuses on educating women about essential steps to safeguard their reproductive health, including:

Annual gynecologist visits – Girls should start visiting a gynecologist between the ages of 12 and 16, with yearly check-ups recommended thereafter.

Preventive vaccinations – Vaccines such as HPV, MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella are crucial in protecting women from preventable diseases.

Early detection and screening – Regular check-ups, including pap smears and breast screenings, can help in early diagnosis and timely intervention.

Healthy lifestyle choices – A balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management, and maintaining a healthy weight contribute to overall reproductive health.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Poornima Ramakrishna, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Apollo Cradle & Children’s Hospital, urged women to take charge of their health. “By committing to annual gynecologist visits, focusing on early detection, and staying alert to potential warning signs, women can take meaningful steps to protect their well-being. I urge every woman to act now—speak to your doctor—and ensure a healthier future.”

Dr. Aparna Jha, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, stressed the importance of prevention, stating, “Maintaining good health is a lifelong commitment, and prevention is our most effective tool. Vaccinations, regular screenings, and early intervention can shield women from serious illnesses, empowering them to live strong, independent lives.”

Dr. Phani Madhuri, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics & Gynecology, highlighted the need for proactive healthcare decisions, saying, “Taking charge of reproductive health is essential. Regular check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care enable women to build a healthier future for themselves and their families.”

The Together for Her Well-being initiative aims to create awareness and encourage women to prioritize their health, ensuring a future free from preventable diseases.
