Wonderla Bengaluru Celebrates 20 Years of Thrills, Innovation and Engineering Excellence

India’s leading amusement park marks two decades of redefining leisure and setting global standards

Bengaluru, 29th October 2025:
Wonderla Holidays Ltd., India’s largest amusement park chain, proudly celebrates 20 years of Wonderla Bengaluru, marking two decades of redefining family entertainment and leisure in India. Since its opening in October 2005, the park has grown from welcoming 3.5 lakh visitors in its first year to over 1.82 crore guests, contributing nearly 40% of Wonderla’s total revenue and footfalls.

In 2012, Wonderla Bengaluru became India’s first amusement park to feature an on-site resort, pioneering integrated leisure in the country. Expanding this vision, the newly launched The Isle by Wonderla—a 4.5-acre luxury aqua retreat—offers 39 eco-luxury accommodations, including cottages, glamping tents, wellness zones and pet-friendly spaces, catering to Bengaluru’s growing demand for nature-driven experiences.

Over the years, Wonderla has continued to innovate, introducing iconic attractions such as Recoil, India’s first reverse looping roller coaster, and Mission Interstellar, the nation’s largest space-themed LED flying theatre. Behind these engineering marvels stands an in-house team led by Mr. Arun Chittilappilly, which has developed nearly 30 rides and manages 188 rides across all Wonderla parks.

Built on a foundation of safety, sustainability, and precision engineering, Wonderla Bengaluru became India’s first amusement park to earn ISO certifications for environment, health, and safety standards. The park adheres to European safety norms (EN 13814), conducts regular TUV inspections, and maintains a zero wastewater discharge system with advanced RO filtration.

Reflecting on the milestone, Mr. Arun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Chairman and Managing Director, said, “We’re celebrating not just rides and thrills, but engineering excellence, safety, and countless memories created over two decades.”

Located just 28 km from Bengaluru, Wonderla has supported over 800 students across 18 government schools through its CSR efforts and continues to shape the future of entertainment in India.
