Karnataka State annual Diabetes conference for 2023 at Hotel Capitol Bangalore on 16th and 17th December.

Under the chairmanship of Dr. Manohar KN, KRSSDI is organising the Karnataka State annual Diabetes conference for 2023 at Hotel Capitol Bangalore on 16th and 17thDecember. This year coincides with the 20th Year Anniversary of KRSSDIestablishment and marks an important milestone.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Prevention to Precision – The past, Present andFuture of diabetes”, attracting over 1000 delegates doctors from across the country with about 300 State & National faculty.

Dr. Manohar KN would be delivering the prestigious “Presidential Oration” on hischosen topic: “Lifestyle as a Prescription”.

Honorary Secretary, Dr. Vijay Kumar K has initiated the Dysglycaemia Detection Drive(3D )program to detect diabetes across the state. The top ten contributing doctors shallrecieve the 3D Awards at the inaugural ceremony
Padmashri Dr. V. Mohan, the top most doctor & researcher in Diabetes from our country has gracefully accepted to be the Chief Guest and Dr. Govindan Rangarajan,
Scientist & Director of IISC Bangalore, will be the Guest of Honour.

From prevention of Diabetes to precision in management, this conference shall addressevery aspect of Diabetes – including the lifestyle therapy, latest medical management strategies, ground breaking research & technology in managing diabetes. With a widearray from lectures & debates to case discussion & workshops, many enthusiasticpostgraduate students will show case their research work as papers and posters andparticipate in an exciting Quiz competition.

“MadhuMeha Patashale” is a unique vision on diabetes education at schools while”MadhuMeha Samvada” is a public information initiative on social media as FB live.Besides these, a quarterly newsletter – “MadhuVani” is for doctors updating them onthe latest developments in the field of metabolism, diabetes and obesity.In recognition of these activities the Karnataka Chapter was awarded the “Best State Chapter” at the National Conference this year.

This Conference would highlight various aspects of management of diabetes and obesity Including clinical skills and recent developments in the management including insulin and tablets. The Conference encourages the younger doctors to participate invarious research activities, paper and poster presentations and quiz

Dr Suman R has organised a Walkathon on 17th morning to raise awareness about diabetes, obesity and to emphasise lifestyle measures.
