SCDL Marks Silver Jubilee with Inspiring Career Seminar by Dr. Arjun Vaidya in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, 29 June 2025:
To commemorate its Silver Jubilee, the Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) hosted an insightful career seminar in Bengaluru, featuring a keynote address by renowned entrepreneur and mentor Dr. Arjun Vaidya. Held under the leadership of Dr. Swati Mujumdar, the event focused on the theme “Reinventing Yourself for India’s Evolving Job Market.”

Addressing a diverse audience of students, alumni, working professionals, and industry participants, Dr. Vaidya underscored the significance of cultivating a strong digital presence in today’s social media-driven world.
“In this digital era, your online identity is your professional currency. Staying active and updated online can unlock numerous career opportunities,” he remarked.

He urged attendees to pursue their passions, embrace challenges as stepping stones, and maintain consistency in honing their skills. “Success stems from competence, creativity, persistence, and self-belief. Complaining achieves little—turning obstacles into opportunities is what truly matters,” he said.

Reflecting on his personal entrepreneurial journey, Dr. Vaidya shared how he overcame health challenges, left the security of a job, and ventured into the traditional business and e-commerce sectors. He candidly spoke about the realities of financial struggle despite significant investment in education and the hurdles of launching a startup. His message was clear: “There’s no perfect time to begin. If you have a business idea, start now.”

He also highlighted the untapped potential of rural India, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to identify ground-level issues and create impactful solutions. “Even while working globally, one can build ventures rooted in rural opportunity. Networking and on-the-ground experience often reveal the market’s best-kept secrets,” he added.

Touching upon artificial intelligence, Dr. Vaidya cautioned against fear-driven resistance. “AI can assist in formulating strategies, but execution remains a human domain. Embrace new technologies and keep learning—India offers countless opportunities for those who stay ahead,” he said.

On building effective teams, he noted, “There’s no one-size-fits-all formula. Great teams evolve over time and thrive on shared values and cultural alignment.”

The Bengaluru seminar was met with an enthusiastic response, drawing participants from multiple sectors. The event also featured an HR Round Table Conference, a Dale Carnegie training workshop, and an awards ceremony, providing a rich platform for professional networking and personal development. All sessions were offered free of charge as part of SCDL’s 25th anniversary initiatives.

Established in 2001 and headquartered in Pune, SCDL has become one of India’s premier private institutions for distance education, offering industry-relevant postgraduate diploma programs to learners across the globe. Over the past 25 years, SCDL has consistently delivered flexible, quality education through its innovative online platforms, experienced faculty, and robust digital infrastructure.

Key dignitaries present at the event included Nikhil Vaidya, Ashish Pandita, and Jay Kolhe.
