The annual Kala Yatri Art & Music Confluence will be held from the 5th of March 2024 to the 8 th, Shivrathri at the Shil Nyas at Samne Ghat on the banks of the Ganga in Varanasi.
Organised by Bengaluru based Guruskool who conceived , nurtured and organising the huge millennial Freedom Jams, this is conceived as a meeting place for travelling artists and art lovers. From music, movement arts to the visual arts the confluence is a multi art event.
Art and Music appreciation Workshops, Siimultiart performances and panel discussions are proposed to be held in the day at this Confluence held concurrently with the the 50th dusk to dawn 4 night long Dhrupad Mela on the Tulsi Ghat.
GetREAL  a pioneering mobile and web app platform, available on Android and iOS, designed specifically for the discovery and booking of performance artists across a wide range of disciplines is also going to launch at the Kala Yatri confluenc
The Esperanto Music Project of Guruskool will release an album “Boat on the River” performed by the Ganga Maiya Trio.  Featuring the music composed and sung by Gopal Navale It features veena virtuoso Geetha Navale, Bluesman Sanketh on electric and bass  guitars and vocals. The album jacket and Videos showcases the brilliant and beautiful paintings of Asit Poddar of Kolkata who has been painting this series since 2012.  Nomadic Studio have used AI to animate his paintings for the video have also designed the album jacket.
As musicians worldwide are feeling let down by aggregators like Spotify who offer them peanuts in exchange for the years of blood sweat and tears invested by them in making and recording their music,   it was felt that  this album should not be shared on the free music streaming platforms but to be made available on Patreon where the music lover could pay a nominal sum and obtain the hi fidelity downloads.
San Thinkwater are the patrons of the event and they will be installing free filtered drinking water stations along the ghats of the river Ganga in Varanasi. This is being done to reduce the ironic use of plastic RO water bottles on the riverbanks where the floating population is huge.
Details are available on a website created specially for this platform http://www.kalayatri.com
