JITO Organizes Global Chanting Event for Vishwa Navkar Mantra Day, Unites Millions Across 108 Countries

Bengaluru, April 9, 2025 — The Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) successfully organized a mega global chanting event to mark Vishwa Navkar Mantra Day on Tuesday, April 9, 2025. The event witnessed the participation of millions of devotees from across 108 countries, who chanted the sacred Navkar Mantra in unison from 8:01 AM to 9:36 AM IST.

In Bengaluru, the central event was held at Freedom Park, drawing thousands of participants. The initiative, aimed at promoting global peace and spiritual unity, took place simultaneously at over 6,000 centers across India and internationally.

The event brought together all sects of the Jain community and also saw participation from representatives of various faiths, making it a unique interfaith spiritual gathering.

Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the gathering virtually from Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. In his address, he commended the effort as an “inspiring initiative towards world peace and spiritual unity” and encouraged citizens to engage with such initiatives. The Prime Minister also drew a connection between the principles of Jainism and the government’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) campaign, highlighting the relevance of Jain values for the younger generation.

To commemorate the occasion, the Department of Posts released a special World Navkar Day Picture Post Card. The release ceremony was held at the Bengaluru event and was officiated by S. Rajendra Kumar, IPoS, Chief Post Master General, Karnataka Circle, in the presence of JITO dignitaries.

Vimal Kataria, JITO Bangalore, emphasized the organization’s role as a medium for promoting the essence of the Navkar Mantra. He further announced that April 9th will henceforth be observed annually as Vishwa Navkar Divas.

The event stands as a testament to the unifying spiritual power of the Navkar Mantra and the collective commitment of the Jain community towards peace, harmony, and service to humanity.
