Lions Clubs International District 317F Region V organized its Region Meet 2018-2019 on 5th January 2019 at Kodava Samaj, Vasanthnagar, Bangalore. The Region meet had a befitting theme called “Igniting Minds” under the able leadership of Region Chairperson Lion Rajesh V.K. The event was celebrated with great grandeur and pomp.
Many renowned dignitaries such as the Chief Guest Ms. Aruna Abhey Oswal, Guest of honour Mr. Mustafa PC, Padmasri Nadoja Nisar Ahmed and Ms. Roshini Prakash graced the occasion. Lions Club International District 317F District Governor Lion Sathyanarayana Raju and other senior Lions were also present at the event.
To commemorate the august occasion of the Region meet, meaningful and need based service activities were conducted under the category of inclusivity, employability and sustainability. Inaugurated a Smart Class in Government Model Primary school, Thirupalaya, Bommasandra which will benefit 500 students. Also inaugurated Children’s Play Area in the same school to encourage the sportsmanship spirit among students.
Financial assistance was provided to a deserving student who is a Para-olympic student and a student from the autism spectrum. Total value of service activities done for the Region meet- Region V Lions Club International District 317F is Rs 6,00,000/- towards community service initiatives.
