27 Dec, 2019, Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa reviewed and discussed the detailed Cauvery Calling implementation plan with Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation. Senior government officials were also present.
Senior government officials of the state and Cauvery Calling teams are in the final stages of firming up the Cauvery revitalization plan through agroforestry initiatives in 35,000 square kilometres in 10 districts and 54 rural talukas of Cauvery basin in the state which will positively impact lives of over 24 lakh farmers.
Besides awareness of the benefits of agroforestry in the state, a detailed sapling production and distribution program has been chalked out between Government of Karnataka and Cauvery Calling teams.
Chief Minister and Sadhguru also discussed ways to make agroforestry an integral part of agricultural practice in the state, particularly in the Cauvery basin.
