World Braille day is celebrated annually in honor of birth of Louie Braille, inventor of “reading and writing system” used by millions of blind people all over the globe.
National Federation of the blind Karnataka therefore takes this opportunity to hold a state level program to pay a befitting tribute to a great soul of Louie Braille.
Theme of the event “Empowering person with disability an ensuring inclusiveness and equality”
There shall be two part of the event in first half between 10.00AM to 1.00 PM
A joint conference of the prime stake holders representing different disabilities and head of various government departments and public authorities for an effective and healthy interaction on due implementation of right to person with disability act 2016 in the state.
Aim of this joint conference is to influence all state government entities and public authorities for effective and expeditious implementation of Right to person with disability act 2016.

Second part of the program will be a formal event for celebration of world Braille day to commemorate Louie Braille the great. It will be continue from 3 to 5 PM and will be graced by various distinguished personality cross section of the society including Sri. P.C. Mohan hon’ble Member of parliament (Bangalore Central constituency) as Chief guest, Sri. Rakesh Singh Hon’ble principal Secretary to government of Karnataka, department of women & Child Development and Empowerment for person with disability, Mrs. Leelavathi, Director Dept. of Differently abled and Sr. Citizen, Famous Film Actor and producer Sri. Raghavendra Rajkumar, Dr. Nagendra Prasad Writer and Music Composer, Sri. Kempahonnaiahan Visually impaired IAS officer Sri. Anupam Prakash Sr. Manager Artificial Limb manufacturing company Government of India and Sri. Nitin Mehtta, Vice President L&T Bangalore.

NFB Dignity of Community Samman 2019

The distribution of financial assistance to 19 visually impaired men and women of total worth Rs.30,000.
