Chickens between 1.7kg and 2 kgs best for consumptions – Suguna Foods

India, May 2020: With the sale of chickens picking up during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Suguna Foods – a leading live bird producer in India advises consumers to opt for live birds that are between 1.7kgs to 2kgs while purchasing meat. The company said that chickens between this weight range are at the peak of their nutrient content & health.

Chicken is a rich source of protein, calcium, amino acids, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, magnesium, and other important nutrients. This lean meat is a healthy alternative to red meat. The domestic demand for broiler meat continues to increase as more and more people opt for healthy balanced diets.  The quality and weight of the chicken are critical during purchase. Live birds with a bodyweight of 1.7-2kg are ideal for consumption as the meat at this stage is high in nutrition while being tender and juicy.

Mr.Ravindran Babu, GM-LB Sales, Suguna Foods said– “ At Suguna Foods, we focus highly on the chicken quality. We grow our chicks in a well-managed environment with good hygienic standards at all levels. The necessary balanced nutrients feed required for the birds given at correct intervals to keep the bird healthy. As our trademark goes ‘Younger, Tender and Better’ we believe in the same mantra. We ensure the live bird’s weight is managed between 1.7-2kg so the end product is always juicier and tastier for the consumers.”

Suguna Foods live birds are available at leading poultry retail stores in the region.
