Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday said that the government is committed to provide impetuous to creating jobs by reviving economic and industrial activities.
He was speaking after launching the `Skill Connect Forum,’ portal that connects both private entrepreneurs and job seekers on the same platform.
The portal provides information on jobs available and who needs a job. “An unemployed will be imparted a skill and then enabled to get a job,” the CM said.
Registering in portal will get a job while it also provides a skilled pool of people for those looking to hire, the CM said.
Bridging Information, Communication:
Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwath Narayan who is also the skill development Minister said that portal will be a boon to the youth seeking jobs. “It will avoid unemployment issue to a great extent,” he said.
“All these years, there was no information and communication between job seekers and recruiters. The portal will solve that problem,” he said.
Dr. Narayan said that there was no proper information on skilled workers and job market. Moreover, the skill development was not in sync with the market. All these issues have been addressed by the portal, the Deputy CM explained.
How it works:
The portal https://skillconnect.kaushalkar.com connects the job seekers and those who want to hire.
All one has to do is to register on the portal by uploading their educational, skill qualifications and other details.
Similarly those looking for hiring a specific skilled persons can also register on the portal giving job discription.
If they find someone suitable for the specified job skill, the companies or industries can contact the job seekers directly and vice versa.
Chief Minister’s political secretary SR Vishwanath, Skill Development Secretary Selva Kumar, Skill Development Authority Managing Director Ashwin Gowda and other trade body representatives were present.
