
Bengaluru, September 07, 2020 : It is the intention of the Government to hold BBMP election in time and therefore a committee has been formed for the purpose, Revenue Minister R Ashok has said.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the Bommanahalli – BTM Layout link road and bridge he said one stage of the road has been completed and works in certain parts have to be completed.
“Bangalore is growing fast beyond expectation. A lot has been done to provide facilities under the leadership of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa. There is the problem of traffic density in the City. Even I have been trapped in the traffic gridlock at the Silk Board junction. The link road will contribute to the easing or traffic”, he said.
The Bommanahalli – BTM Layout Link Road is being laid at a cost of Rs 15 crore for which area legislator Satish Reddy, Bommanahalli BBMP member and Deputy Mayor Ram Mohan Raj have been instrumental.
The Minister said that it is the responsibility of the Government to provide infrastructure to the city as it grows.
He said the elections to BBMP will be held at the end of its term. Delimitation of wards and other preliminaries is left to the officials, he added.
“The link road will set right the negative reputation in has earned due to tolls and viral videos circulated worldwide. The link road will benefit 50,000 commuters”, BBMP member of Bommanahalli ward C R Ram Mohan Raj said.
Bangalore South Lok Sabha member Tejasvi Surya, Bommnahalli legislator Satish Reddy, BTM Layout legislator Ramalinga Reddy and Mayor Gautam Kumar participated in the inaugural.
