Homeopathy effective in management of long COVID,shows patient data at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic

NEW DELHI / April 7, 2022: Homeopathic treatment has proven effective in the management of several health disorders seen in patients for many months after recovering from Covid-19 infection (‘Long Covid’), an analysis of patient data from the last two years at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic in Delhi has shown.

“We are currently treating hundreds of patients suffering from health conditions triggered by Covid such as stroke, serious lung damage, cardiac damage, rhythm disorders, kidney disease, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, mood disorders and Guillain-barre Syndrome. Anecdotal evidence of hundreds of patients seems to indicate that Homeopathy appears to benefit in managing these disorders” said Dr. Kalyan Banerjee, Padma Shri recipient and the founder of Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic, Delhi-NCR’s most renowned homeopathy clinic. “Patients suffering from long COVID symptoms should definitely consider homeopathic treatment either as exclusive or as an add-on to allopathic medicine for optimum outcomes.”
He said that homeopathy was also found to be effective in the prevention of Covid-19 as well as the management of patients who caught the virus. Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic developed a homeopathy prophylaxis protocol for prevention of Covid-19 as soon as the pandemic began. It dispensed 2 lakh courses of this protocol in India alone, helping protect people from the dreaded infection. Said Dr. Kalyan Banerjee: “The prophylaxis protocol was developed by us in early days of the pandemic. A huge dataset of 15,000 of our patients from 18 countries was analysed and a protective effect of the protocol was found against Covid-19. Seeing its effectiveness, the protocol was requested by thousands of patients and doctors in several hospitals around the world.”

Doctors at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic were involved in the management of severe COVID-19 cases, seeing more than 100 Covid patients a day in the peak of the pandemic, including those suffering from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. More than 50 Covid patients admitted in ICU were managed with homeopathic medicines as an add-on during the Delta wave. Over 30% of these intensive care patients recovered, said Dr. Kalyan Banerjee.

Findings from the ongoing retrospective observational studies conducted by Dr Banerjee’s Clinic have also shown the positive impact of homeopathy interventions on a significant percentage of patients of chronic kidney disease / kidney failure and hypothyroidism. For the purposes of these studies, a catchment period was defined and data of patients with these conditions coming to Dr Kalyan Banerjee’s clinic during that period was extracted.

Said Dr. Kushal Banerjee, a second-generation homeopath at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic: “The hypothyroidism study analysed the records of 3,500 patients at our Clinic. It was found that by the time of third visit to the clinic, more that 50% of patients of hypothyroidism demonstrated an improvement in their serum thyroid stimulating hormone readings. The chronic kidney disease study analysed the records of 520 patients. It found that by the third visit to the clinic, 58.3% patients demonstrated an improvement in their serum urea readings while 74.2% patients showed improvement in creatinine levels after first and second visits to the Clinic.”

He added: “The early observations are very interesting. In the hypothyroidism study, the data seems to indicate that specific homeopathic medicines given to patients were able to improve the functioning of the thyroid gland, thereby bringing down the thyroid stimulating hormone readings. This has the potential of reducing – or entirely stopping – the dosage of thyroid hormone replacement in patients. More than half of patients of hypothyroidism benefitting from homeopathic medicines is a very significant number, considering that 11% of Indian population suffers from hypothyroidism.”

Said Dr. Kushal Banerjee: “In the chronic kidney disease study, two of the most clinically important readings in patients – serum urea and creatinine – showed vast improvement. No currently available treatment is able to affect a reduction in these parameters. This study may turn out to be of immense benefit to patients. Since these readings are a part of the decision-making process of whether to start dialysis or not, homeopathic treatment may help patients avoid the start of dialysis.”

Doctors at Dr. Kalyan Banerjee’s Clinic see an average of 40 cases of hypothyroidism and 25 cases of chronic kidney disease every day. TUMMOC JOINS HANDS WITH BMTC FOR TICKET/PASS BOOKING FEATURE

This newly launched option by India’s 1st Made-in-India Multi-Modal Public Transport Application will bring in a digital revolution in the city’s public transport system & ease out the intracity travelling issues.

6th April 2022, Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s bus travel is now easy & within commuters’ reach. Tummoc, India’s First Multi-Modal Public Transport App, announces the launch of their new & essential ticket/pass booking feature. In partnership with Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), it will resolve the city’s daily public transport concerns via digital ticketing or pass options.
This new feature allows passengers to buy both bus tickets & passes via the app. It will minimise the ticket troubles for BMTC & customers and remove the dependency on physical cash. 

One can opt to pre-book the tickets & passes. For daily tickets or passes, one must book them on the day of the commute. Weekly passes can be booked in advance before the coming week. There are strict provisions for monthly pass booking.
Customers can activate the tickets/pass on the bus or before boarding. It will need to be validated within 30 mins from activation.

The validation happens by tapping on the Scan QR Button on the Tummoc App & then scanning the conductor’s QR. Customers can also allow the conductor to scan the customer QR code on the ETM device/mobile app. If the internet stops functioning, the conductor feeds the ticket number or registered number on his App/ETM device for verification. The best part is that customers get notified one day in advance for the renewal of the monthly pass. Daily tickets are valid only for the day of purchase. Validity for all passes remains the same as per standard BMTC protocols.

World Health Day – Medall Healthcare Sights 11% Rise in Prediabetics between the Age Group of 20-39yrs

Bangalore, April 06, 2022: Medall Healthcare, India’s fastest-growing integrated diagnostics services provider has seen an alarming increase in the percentage of prediabetics among younger age groups. Medall’s data analysis on the results of tests from 2017 at centres across South India, shows an increasing trend in the prevalence of Obesity and Diabetes.
Medall’s data mining on the results of almost 9 lakh HbA1c tests undertaken & almost 2 lakh BMI values show an increasing trend in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases, such as Obesity, Diabetes, Hypertension and Dyslipidaemia, is on the rise and is expected to increase considerably in India. These findings are from Medall’s database of lab values for over a period of 6 years across South India. The primary factor for the increase in obesity is lack of physical activity and unhealthy food habits. Obesity causes increased levels of fatty acids and inflammation, leading to insulin resistance, which in turn can lead to type 2 diabetes.

The HbA1c test measures how much glucose is bound to red blood cells. This test shows the average level of glucose in the blood for the past 3-4 months. BMI is the standard indicator of body fat for most people. It is used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems.

Dr. Akila Ravikumar, Wellness Consultant, Medall said, “Although diabetes figures are high, it’s a fact that at least 60% of cases remain undiagnosed. This is particularly concerning, as the risk of serious complications increases when people do not take steps to do the periodic health checks, which can help them identify problems early. In India, abdominal obesity is one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVDs) and diabetes. Various studies have shown that the prevalence of obesity among women were significantly higher as compared to men. Obesity is one of the main medical and financial burdens for the government. There is also strong evidence that Indians have a greater degree of insulin resistance that can convert as Diabetes if not identified and corrected early.

It is a common misconception that these chronic conditions are identified mostly in older people. Year-on-year statistics show an increasing trend of prediabetes in younger age groups. Among the age group of 20-39, 21% were prediabetic in 2017 which has now increased to 32% in 2022. It is important to note that prediabetes can be reversed if diagnosed at an early stage. The analysis also clearly shows a steady increase in % of diabetes prevalence in patients aged 40-69.

As mentioned above, unchecked obesity can lead to insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes, and this is a growing concern. The Table below highlights the proportion of Overweight/Obese individuals by Age Group. It is observed that in almost all age groups, there are more people in the “Overweight” or “Obese” categories than in the “Normal” category.

Covid-19 pandemic has further emphasized the importance of early identification and management of chronic conditions such as Diabetes, Obesity, and Hypertension. This is a clear indicator that there is a need for preventive health checks, especially in early adulthood. If anyone experiences a weight change or develops signs or symptoms of diabetes, such as increased thirst, increased urination, fatigue or blurred vision they should get a diabetes check and consult a doctor.

The prevalence of obesity in India varies due to age, gender, geographical environment, socio-economic status, etc. According to the IDF, prevalence of diabetes will double globally from 171 million in 2000 to 366 million in 2030, with a maximum increase in India. Shockingly, India would be home to almost 100 million patients with diabetes by 2030.
