Druthi Mahila Marukatte, online market exclusively run by women is the brainchild of Ms Aparna Rao, This is formed in 2020-21 during the onset of pandemic.
This selling group mainly consist of women of remote and backward rural areas. Hundreds of sellers who have not had any previous experience of business before are becoming self reliant, confident business women under Druthi Mahila Marukatte. Druthi is celebrating its second anniversary with ‘Druthi Utsav’ in association of BIT organising an exhibition and sale, featuring its members,with the main intention of giving them opportunity to have a glimpse of trade today and to read the pulse of today’s consumer, making them self reliant and more successful in the future.
Druthi mahila market is celebrating its anniversary called “Druthi Utsav” by organising a festival at BlT college auditorium on 21st and 22nd May. It will be inaugurated by respected MLA Sri. Uday Garudachar, and MLC and BJP Prabhari Sri. HS Gopinath will be the chief guest, Chairman Governing Council BIT Sri M. Puttaswamy & Principal Sri Aswath M.U will grace the occasion.
They are showcasing over 90 stalls displaying indigenous products in thus Utsav. They have also organized attractive events for entertainment and devolopment like Games, selfy corners, Chat corners, BIT youth entertainment program, Pottery workshop, Entrepreneur Development. Programs, Talks from illustrious entrepreneurs, compitations in the fields of cooking and business ideas are held to bring out the best of these talented women.
