Mylos Rescue holds a citywide adoption camp to rehabilitate stray animals with comfort

Bangalore , 26 August, 2022 : Mylos Rescue , an NGO that aims to end stray animal suffering in India , held a citywide adoption camp in Bangalore at Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital , Domlur and Jeeva Pet Hospital , JP Nagar . Mylos Rescue conducted a large awareness campaign to teach Bangalore citizens the benefits of having Indie pets in their family . This adoption camp has found forever homes for 40+ stray animal rescues , across the city . According to a 2019 census , the total population of stray dog and stray cattle in India stands at 2.03 Crore . And this number is ever increasing on the streets of India . ” Mylos Rescue aims to implement a 4R model across the city of Bangalore ( Reduce Population , Respond Fastest , Rescue Always & Rehabilitate with Comfort ) to end this suffering at the city level and subsequently , replicate this model across all cities in the country through collaboration & partnership , ” said Kush Gupta , Secretary , Mylos Rescue .
As part of its strategy of ” Rehabilitate with Comfort ” , Mylos Rescue started building one of the largest animal shelter in Bangalore with a capacity to house over 700+ rescued stray animals in October 2021. It is one – of – a – kind shelter built with a completely environmentally sustainable approach using alternative architecture techniques like Eco – bricks for walls and naturally found stones for its foundation . The shelter construction is completed earlier this month and will act as the epicenter for ending stray animal suffering in the city . ” Mylos Rescue conducts over 5+ stray animal rescues per week and has rescued over 3,000+ stray animals till date from the streets of Bangalore . The rescues in our shelter have life threatening and permanent disabilities and hence , are in complete care of Mylos , ” said Lakshmi Swaminathan , President , Mylos Rescue . Mylos Rescue was co – founded by Lakshmi Swaminathan , Kush Gupta & Nagesh Reddy in 2021 as a public charitable trust under the Registrar of Karnataka .
