CONCERT FOR CANCER FREE SOCIETY-26TH FEBRUARY

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, based on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission granted recognition to Yenepoya University Trust, A Deemed to be University status under Section 3A of the UGC Act, 1956 in the year 2008 with Yenepoya Dental College as its constituent college. Over a span of 15 years, the University has now grown to include 10 constituent units with nearly 7000 students pursuing various courses related to health and general education. Currently the university is accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade (second cycle) and it is constantly within top 100 universities of the country as per NIRF rankings published by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. The university offers more than 100 UG, PG, PhD, super speciality and fellowship programmes. Currently the university is functioning from 5 different campuses covering a total area of nearly 100 acres in Mangalore. In addition to Academics, the university also offers excellent services related to research through state of the art research centre and Incubation Centre. For skill development of the students highly sophisticated skill lab and surgical training labs are also available.

Yenepoya Medical College hospital is a teaching hospital attached to the medical college with more than 1100 beds offers free and highly subsidised speciality and superspeciality services to the needy. The hospital is empanelled under most of the Government Insurance Schemes and the patients covered by these schemes are treated totally free of cost. Apart from the general services, the hospital also offers premium services including Robotic Surgery, Renal Transplant, Cardiac Procedures and IVF facilities to name a few.

The hospital has been serving cancer patients since the last decade at very affordable costs, with its expert team and highly advanced equipments. Looking at our achievements, TATA Trusts Mumbai came forward to support us to establish Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology, a comprehensive centre for the treatment and care of cancer patients. The facility has a built in area of 36000 sq.ft. The Centre has a state of the art true beam

Radiotherapy machine for targeted and precise approach to cancer and a brachytherapy machine. The building also has a nuclear medicine facility including PET, CT scan, SPECT, day care chemotherapy facility and dedicated area for pain and palliative services. The Centre also has a dedicated mobile wellness clinic supported by Rotary International for preventive oncology and early detection of non communicable diseases including cancer.

We at Zulekha Yenepoya Institute of Oncology believe in leaving no stone unturned when it comes to cancer care. The university has initiated many activities as a part of making Cancer Care affordable to the patients. As a part of this initiative, a musical concert has been proposed in Dr.Ambedkar Bhavan, Millers Road, Bangalore, on Sunday, 26th February 2023 from 4pm to 8pm as a fund raising activity. Many dignitaries and officials will be part of this event and invites have been sent to like minded people, who want to be the part of this noble initiative to support patients suffering from cancer. The entire amount raised through this activity will be used to develop a corpus fund to the support and care of cancer patients. The university requests everyone to support this noble cause by actively taking part in this event and help us to serve the society better.
