Christopher Nolan to Attend First-Ever India Premiere of The Odyssey in Mumbai
Mumbai: Acclaimed filmmaker and Academy Award-winning director Christopher Nolan will visit India this July for the first-ever Indian premiere of one of his films, as part of the global launch tour for his much-anticipated mythological action epic, The Odyssey.
The Mumbai premiere has been officially included in the film’s international promotional tour, placing the city alongside major global destinations such as London, Paris and New York City. The event will be held at the iconic PVR ICON IMAX Phoenix Palladium.
Nolan, known for blockbuster and critically acclaimed films such as Oppenheimer, Interstellar, Inception, Dunkirk and Tenet, will be accompanied by lead actors Matt Damon and Tom Holland, along with Academy Award-winning producer Emma Thomas.
Written and directed by Nolan, The Odyssey is an adaptation of Homer’s legendary tale chronicling Odysseus’ decade-long journey home following the fall of Troy. The film is being described as a large-scale cinematic spectacle and is the first feature film to be shot entirely using IMAX cameras, employing newly developed IMAX technology.
The ensemble cast includes Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron and Samantha Morton.
Set for a worldwide theatrical release on July 17, The Odyssey is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
Advance bookings for IMAX screenings have already commenced across India, while the Mumbai premiere is being hailed as one of the most significant Hollywood film events ever hosted in the country.
