New CSR-backed facility in Domlur offers free eye care for BPL cardholders and subsidised treatment for others
Bengaluru, September 9, 2026: In a significant step towards making quality eye care accessible to economically disadvantaged communities, Acer India has launched the Netradeep Eye Care Centre in Domlur under its flagship CSR initiative, Project Humanity.
Established in partnership with Rotary Bengaluru Indiranagar and with the support of Shantinagar MLA N.A. Haris, the centre will provide free eye care services to BPL cardholders and subsidised treatment to other patients.
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between specialised eye care and communities that often struggle to access timely diagnosis and treatment because of financial constraints, limited availability of healthcare services and lack of awareness.
The Netradeep centre will offer consultations, diagnostic tests, treatment and specialised eye care services, with a strong focus on early detection and prevention of vision loss. Patients requiring surgical intervention will be referred for further treatment, including cataract surgeries.
The centre will also provide specialised services for conditions affecting the cornea, retina and glaucoma, apart from treating refractive errors and offering laser-based treatment procedures.
Acer India said the initiative reflects its belief that good vision is closely linked to education, employment, independence and overall quality of life.
Speaking at the launch, Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director of Acer India Group, said the company’s responsibility extends beyond technology and business.

“Good vision can transform a person’s ability to learn, earn a livelihood and live independently. Through Netradeep, we want to ensure that financial barriers do not prevent people from accessing quality eye care,” Kohli added.
N.A. Haris, MLA, Shantinagar Assembly Constituency, said accessible healthcare initiatives could have a direct and lasting impact on communities.
“Vision is closely connected to education, livelihood, independence and quality of life. Yet, eye health is often ignored until the problem becomes serious,” he said.
Haris said he was pleased to support the initiative and had made his office space in the building available for the establishment of the eye care centre.
Gopinath Narayanan, President of Rotary Bengaluru Indiranagar and Chairman of Bengaluru Indiranagar Rotary Trust (BIRT), said Netradeep would function as both an eye screening and treatment centre.
He said several eye conditions would be treated free of cost for economically disadvantaged patients, while nominal charges would apply to others. Patients requiring surgery would be referred to the Globe Eye Foundation in Hoskote, with necessary support for treatment and transportation.
Rotary Bengaluru Indiranagar has already been conducting eye screening camps across Bengaluru, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar and Tumakuru, particularly focusing on underserved communities.
The new centre is expected to address the growing need for specialised retina and glaucoma care in the Domlur region. Conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma can lead to permanent vision loss if they are not detected and treated early.
Through subsidised treatment, early diagnosis and community outreach programmes, Netradeep aims to reduce avoidable blindness and ensure that quality eye care reaches those who need it most.
The initiative is part of Acer India’s wider Project Humanity platform, which supports programmes in healthcare, education, inclusion and social welfare. With Netradeep, Acer India is extending its CSR commitment towards protecting and preserving one of life’s most valuable assets – the gift of sight.
