Vasan Eye Care Conducts 41st National Eye Donation Awareness Programme in Bommanahalli

Bengaluru: Vasan Eye Care’s Bommanahalli branch organised the 41st National Eye Donation Awareness Program & Screening Camp in association with Viswa Sai College of Nursing, with the objective of creating awareness about eye donation and promoting the importance of timely eye care.

The programme brought together healthcare professionals and nursing students to spread awareness about the importance of corneal donation and how it can help restore sight to people affected by corneal blindness.

Dr. Veena Prabhu, along with Dr. Mahak, Dr. Varsha and Dr. Nishnath, delivered an informative session on eye donation. They explained the eye donation process, the importance of pledging eyes and the role of family members in supporting the decision to donate corneas after death.

The doctors also interacted with the participants and answered their queries, addressing common doubts and misconceptions surrounding eye donation. The screening camp further highlighted the importance of regular eye check-ups and early detection of eye-related problems.

Students of Viswa Sai College of Nursing actively participated in the awareness initiative and were encouraged to carry the message of eye donation to their families and communities.

As a token of appreciation for their contribution to the awareness programme, Vasan Eye Care presented certificates to Viswa Sai College of Nursing for their participation and contribution to the programme.

The organisers said that sustained awareness initiatives are essential to encourage more people to come forward and pledge their eyes. Such efforts can help increase the availability of donated corneas and give renewed hope to those waiting for sight-restoring treatment.
