Defeats top seed Kishan R by 101 pins in a closely contested final at Jayanagar
Bengaluru, September 23, 2026: Akaash Ashok Kumar emerged as the champion of the 1st Karnataka State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament, held at Amoeba Bowling Center in Jayanagar, Bengaluru.
The second-seeded Akaash put up a strong performance in the final to defeat top seed Kishan R by 101 pins. The two-game final was decided on cumulative pinfall, with Akaash finishing with 451 pins against Kishan’s 350.
Akaash took control of the final in the opening game, scoring 232 pins, while Kishan managed 157. The 75-pin advantage gave Akaash a strong start.
He continued his impressive form in the second game, scoring 219 pins. Kishan improved his performance with 193, but Akaash’s consistency across both games helped him secure a comfortable 101-pin victory and the championship title.
Earlier, the knockout stage saw two matches that decided the finalists. Top seed Kishan R defeated fourth seed Vijay Punjabi 358–318, while Akaash beat third seed Sahil Punjabi 447–342.
Akaash’s strong showing in the knockout round carried into the final as he completed a dominant campaign to finish at the top of the podium.
