Mokshitha Pai, Vijay Lalitha Surya and Kavitha Gowda return to the small screen with Zee Kannada’s new action-packed serial
Bengaluru, September 26, 2026: Zee Kannada is set to introduce a new television serial, ‘Jagaddhatri’, featuring a unique blend of family emotions, action, patriotism, romance and police drama. The serial will premiere on September 28 and will air every day at 9 pm.
Actress Mokshitha Pai will play the lead role of Jagaddhatri, an undercover woman police officer who balances her responsibilities at home with her fight against crime. While she faces challenges and pressure within her family, she takes on a completely different persona outside, working as a determined police officer.
A major part of the storyline revolves around Jagaddhatri’s mission to clear her mother’s name after she is accused of being anti-national. Determined to ensure justice for her mother, Jagaddhatri takes on a difficult battle while dealing with family conflicts, professional challenges and personal responsibilities.
The serial portrays Jagaddhatri as both the light of her family and a force against those who threaten society. The story combines family relationships with action sequences, duty, patriotism and romance, giving the show a contemporary appeal.
The serial has already generated interest on social media with its hook step. A duet featuring Mokshitha Pai and Vijay Lalitha Surya has also attracted attention. Vijay Lalitha Surya will play an IPS officer, with his character sharing a special equation with Jagaddhatri.
Speaking about his return to a romantic role, Vijay Lalitha Surya said, “I have not played a character like this for a long time. I am happy to be back in a role that revolves around love and romance.”
Along with Mokshitha Pai and Vijay Lalitha Surya, Kavitha Gowda will be seen in a key role. The cast also includes veteran and younger artistes such as Girija Lokesh, Aruna Balaraj, Lakshmi Siddappa, Maiko Manju, Vachan Hosamath, Ravi Bhat, Sonia Ponnamma and Manasi Sudheer, among others.
The serial is being produced by writers Mahesh Rao and Prakash, who are known for their work in cinema, and is directed by Mahesh Sarang. It is being produced under the Keerthi Akshaya Network banner.
With its mix of family drama, high-energy action, police investigations, patriotism and the romantic track between Vijay Lalitha Surya and Mokshitha Pai, Jagaddhatri presents the lead character through two contrasting worlds. At home, she is a woman managing family responsibilities, while outside she is a police officer committed to taking on criminals and protecting society.
Deepak Sriramulu, Business Head, Zee Kannada, said women continue to face several challenges while balancing different responsibilities in life, and Jagaddhatri reflects this reality through its central character.
“Women are said to be the source of creation, and even today every woman navigates her own set of challenges. Jagaddhatri too faces several challenges in her life, but she takes them head-on while carrying the responsibility of protecting society as a super cop,” he said.
