Awards honour outstanding achievers with disabilities; cash prizes of up to ₹2 lakh on offer
Bengaluru, October 28, 2026: CavinKare Pvt. Ltd. and Ability Foundation have extended the nomination deadline for the 25th edition of the CavinKare Ability Awards 2027 to November 1, giving individuals another opportunity to nominate themselves or recognise the achievements of others who have overcome challenges and excelled in their respective fields.
The awards honour exceptional individuals with disabilities who have made significant contributions to society through their achievements, determination and leadership. Nominations can be submitted through the official websites, http://www.abilityfoundation.org and http://www.cavinkare.com.
The CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence carries a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, while each of the three CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards offers ₹1 lakh. Recipients will also receive a citation and a trophy in recognition of their achievements.
Instituted in 2003, the CavinKare Ability Awards have recognised 106 achievers from across India. Over the years, the initiative has highlighted inspiring stories of individuals who have challenged stereotypes, broken barriers and demonstrated that disability need not limit talent, ambition or achievement.
The awards feature two categories. The CavinKare Ability Award for Eminence recognises an individual with a disability who has founded an organisation that has made a transformative social impact. The CavinKare Ability Mastery Awards honour individuals with disabilities who have demonstrated excellence and distinction in their chosen fields.
Beyond recognising individual accomplishments, the awards seek to promote inclusion, challenge prevailing perceptions of disability and encourage greater opportunities for persons with disabilities across society.
Eligible nominees must be Indian nationals with disabilities recognised under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. Both self-nominations and nominations submitted by others are accepted.
The selection process involves multiple stages, including application screening, interviews, field visits and a final evaluation by a distinguished jury.
