ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕಂದಾಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 44 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ನಮಗೆ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ 100 ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೇತನ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಈಗ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ 13,000 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೇತನ ನಮಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಷ್ಟು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ವೇತನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ದಿನದ 24 ತಾಸು ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಈ ಅಲ್ಪವೇತನದಿಂದ ಈಗಿನ ಬೆಲೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯ ದಿನಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಬಹಳ ಕಷ್ಟದಾಯಕವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಮತ್ತು ನಮಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸೇವಾ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸರಕಾರದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಹ ನಾವು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ತುಂಬಾ ಜನ ಶೇ.80% ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸಹಾಯಕರು ವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತರು ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವಿದ್ಯೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಹುದ್ದೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ವೇತನ ಶ್ರೇಣಿಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ನಾವು ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಸಹ ಮುಷ್ಕರ ಹೂಡಲಾಗಿ ಆ ಮುಷ್ಕರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸೇವಾ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಕೊಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಆಶ್ವಾಸನೆ ನೀಡಿದಾಗಲೂ ಸಹ ನಮಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ತನಕ ಸರಕಾರ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಈಡೇರಿಸಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮುಂಬರುವ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಸೇವಾ ಭದ್ರತೆ ಒದಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸರಕಾರಿ ನೌಕರರು ಅಂತ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬಜೆಟ್ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಒಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಘನ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸದೇ ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಜೆಟ್ ಮುಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಅನಿರ್ದಿಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಮುಷ್ಕರವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಾಗಿ ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಹೆಚ್.ಎನ್.ದೇವರಾಜು- ರಾಜ್ಯಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

“Paridrishya”, An International Festival for Shortfilms and Documentaries – Karnataka, is being celebrated under the banner of “Mysuru Cinema Society” and “Bharatiya Chitra Sadhana”. This film festival will be celebrated on February 11th and 12th at “Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy”, Bengaluru.

Mysuru Cinema Society, for four years was an informal gathering of film enthusiasts and critics from Mysuru, which is actively involved in objective analysis of films. It took an Institutional form in the year 2022. Since then, Mysuru Cinema Society has screened movies for analysis, conducted workshops with support of noted film makers, technicians and academicians. In its continuing efforts, Mysuru Cinema Society is privileged to be part of Paridrishya.

“Paridrishya” has received 150 films from 10 countries across the world, including Israel, USA, France, Italy and Iran. Paridrishya has 25 various awards to be presented under the following categories.

Mr. Ittira Davis, MD & CEO, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank said, “Q3FY23 was another successful quarter in a row with our balance sheet size crossing the 30K mark this quarter. Overall disbursements for the quarter remained strong driving 5% Q-o-Q growth in gross loan book*. Deposit growth outpaced assets growth taking out CD ratio toward more comfortable levels. We continued to expand our physical presence; this quarter we added 8 branches and also entered into a new state – Telangana. We will look to add few more branches in Q4 and 50-70 in FY24. We would continue to leverage our digital capabilities in addition to brick and mortar. Our mobile application “Hello Ujjivan” will help us bring more of our customers into digital ecosystem. Also, we continue to expand our product suite to be more relevant to our target customers and have larger share of their wallet. Protest Under the banner of AICCTU BY Illegally terminated workers of Yazaki India Pvt Ltd plant of Lakkenahalli of Ramnagara

Illegally terminated workers of Yazaki India Pvt Ltd plant of Lakkenahalli of Ramnagara district of Karnataka have been staging a protest under the banner of AICCTU outside the factory gate since 26th December. Last month, about 153 workers were illegally and abruptly terminated by this unit. Yazaki is a Japan based company that manufactures automobile wiring equipment.

Besides the termination without notice, the workers are plagued with myriad other issues as Yazaki does not concern itself much with sticking to legal labour practices. It employs about 1500 workmen in this manner, terming them “trainee operator” who in fact perform core jobs which are the same as the permanent workers. These workers have all been working continuously for various periods extending to three years. These workers are also denied other benefits extended to the permanent workmen, including production incentive, leave facilities, bonus, shoes/uniforms etc. These workers do overtime work without double the pay and are forced to work for continuous double (16 hours) or sometimes even triple (24 hours) shifts. The list continues.

The factory was initially in Bangalore district in the outskirts, later shifted to Ramnagara in January, 2022. At this time, all the workers were also shifted to the new unit. They were given assurances that they would be continued in work, and their salary would be increased and that they would eventually be made permanent workmen. These workers are mostly intra-state migrants hailing from Gulbarga, Belgaum, Chikkamagaluru, and other districts of Karnataka.

53 workers were not able to punch-out after their shift in the biometric attendance machine on the night of 13.12.2022. Shockingly, on presenting themselves to the factory on 14.12.2022 at 6.00 am, these workers were told by the HR Assistant of the management that they have been terminated. About 100 other workers who saw what was happening to the 53 workers came in solidarity with them and were sacked.

Due to the pressure built by the movement, management was forced to assure in a conciliation meeting with the Deputy Labour commissioner (DLC) that all the workers will be taken back. As of now around 30 workers have been called back for work. However, inspite of recorded assurances, there is no more progress in taking the workers back since the last three weeks. It is becoming increasingly difficult for them to survive without a salary as they are mostly from different districts of Karnataka. Currently, the demand is to complete the process of reinstating all the workers immediately, as assured.
