Bengaluru: The Professional Couriers (TPC) on Saturday announced the launch of its new ultra-premium express logistics service, ‘Pro EX’, at a press conference held at the JP Fortune Celestian in the city.

The service was unveiled by Managing Directors Thomas John and Ahmed Meeran, along with Directors Demacy C. Chacko, Suresh Bharathan, V. Sreenath and P. M. Abraham.

With nearly 38 years of experience, The Professional Couriers is among India’s leading courier and express logistics companies. Through its extensive distribution network, the company connects businesses and individuals across the country.

The company stated that it has continuously expanded its operations in line with evolving market demands and technological advancements, building a reputation for reliability and service quality both domestically and internationally.

Responding to the growing demand for specialised logistics solutions, the company had entered the premium services segment over a decade ago, offering time-bound and customised delivery solutions. As part of this initiative, the ‘Pro Premium’ service was introduced, featuring improved transit times, advanced tracking and dedicated handling, which received positive customer response.

The newly launched ‘Pro EX’ is positioned as a next-generation express logistics solution, with a strong focus on speed, reliability and end-to-end digital integration. It includes features such as real-time tracking, instant updates and enhanced transparency.

According to the company, the service has been designed to cater to time-sensitive and secure shipment requirements, with particular emphasis on faster delivery and operational precision.

To support its nationwide rollout, an all-India training workshop will be conducted on April 11, 2026, to train staff on new processes and technological systems.

The official launch of the ‘Pro EX’ service is scheduled for May 4, 2026.

Bengaluru, April 10: Wonderla Holidays Ltd. has raised the bar for thrill entertainment with the launch of Garuda Glide, Karnataka’s first inverted roller coaster, at its Bengaluru park. The addition marks a significant milestone, making Wonderla Bengaluru the only amusement park in India to host two large-scale roller coasters with inversions-Recoil and Garuda Glide.

Manufactured by Dutch ride engineering major Vekoma, the Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) promises a high-adrenaline, globally benchmarked experience. Designed for continuous momentum, the 130-second ride features five inversions, including a roll-over, vertical loop, sidewinder and double inline twist, delivering a seamless sequence of twists and turns without pause.

What sets Garuda Glide apart is its suspended seating design, where riders are positioned below the track with their legs freely hanging, intensifying the sensation of  speed and flight. The coaster reaches speeds of up to 80 kmph, climbs to a height of 31 metres, and runs along a 662-metre steel track engineered for sharp directional shifts and rapid transitions.

The ₹34-crore project has been executed by Wonderla’s in-house engineering team, ensuring precision in installation and adherence to international safety standards. The ride incorporates advanced PLC-based control systems, multiple redundant braking mechanisms, and backup power provisions, along with stringent daily maintenance protocols.

To handle visitor demand efficiently, Garuda Glide operates on a dual-train system, with each train accommodating 14 riders, enabling a higher throughput and reduced waiting time.

The launch event witnessed the presence of popular content creator Gagan Srinivas, Indian cricketer Shreyanka Patil, and senior leadership including Arun K. Chittilappilly, Executive Chairman and MD of Wonderla Holidays Ltd.

Speaking on the occasion, Chittilappilly described Garuda Glide as a “defining milestone” in the park’s journey, underlining the company’s commitment to delivering world-class attractions in India. He emphasised that beyond speed and inversions, the ride reflects a blend of engineering excellence and uncompromising safety standards.

With Garuda Glide now open to the public, Wonderla Bengaluru further consolidates its position as a leading destination for thrill seekers, offering a globally competitive amusement experience within the country.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಯುಪಿಇಎಸ್ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ನಗರದತ್ತ ‘ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ 3.0’ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿ, ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ವಲಯದ ನಾಯಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ತಜ್ಞರನ್ನು ಒಂದೇ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿತು.

‘ಪರಿಸರ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ: ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆ, ನವೀನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೈತಿಕತೆ’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದಡಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಸಂವಾದದಲ್ಲಿ ಡೀಪ್‌ಟೆಕ್ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಸ್ಟಾರ್ಟ್‌ಅಪ್‌ಗಳ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳ ರೂಪಾಂತರಗಳು ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ದಿಕ್ಕು ನೀಡಲಿವೆ ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ‘ನವೀನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿನ್ಯಾಸ’ ಹಾಗೂ ‘ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ’ ಎಂಬ ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವಿಷಯಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳು ನಡೆದವು. ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಅಗತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಲಿಕಾ ಮಾದರಿಗಳನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಕ್ರಿಯ ಸಹಕಾರ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಜ್ಞರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಯುಪಿಇಎಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ಡೇಲ್ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜೀಸ್ ನಡುವಿನ ಒಪ್ಪಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವದ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ರೂಪಣೆ, ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ತರಬೇತಿ, ಅತಿಥಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಗಳು, ಇಂಟರ್ನ್‌ಶಿಪ್‌ಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಾವಕಾಶಗಳ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಲಿವೆ.

ಯುಪಿಇಎಸ್ ಉಪಕುಲಪತಿ ಡಾ. ಸುನಿಲ್ ರೈ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವು ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಲಂಬಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಂತಹ ಉಪಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣ ಸಂವಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ದಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಯೋಗಿಕ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಸುಮಾರು 20ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹಿರಿಯ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕಾ ನಾಯಕರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಯುಪಿಇಎಸ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ವ್ಯವಹಾರ, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಬದ್ಧತೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.

Hotels Turn to Induction Cooking as Fuel Costs Surge; Industry Seeks GST Relief

Bengaluru, April 7, 2026: Amid rising fuel prices triggered by escalating tensions in West Asia, the hospitality sector is increasingly exploring alternatives to conventional cooking fuels. At a press conference held at the Press Club on Tuesday afternoon, industry representatives called on the Centre to promote the adoption of induction-based cooking systems and consider reducing GST on such equipment.

With concerns mounting over potential shortages of LPG, hotels and food service businesses are facing operational challenges. Disruptions in supply following geopolitical developments have already led to scarcity in several regions, placing significant pressure on commercial kitchens.
In response, Lorman Kitchen Equipments has introduced a modern commercial induction cooking system that, according to the company, can reduce cooking costs by up to 60% compared to traditional LPG usage. The system also offers added benefits such as preventing blackening of utensils and ensuring easier maintenance of kitchen hygiene.

Addressing the media, Director Dr. S.N. Chandramouli noted that hotels, restaurants, resorts, and cloud kitchens across the country remain heavily dependent on LPG. However, recent global developments have exposed vulnerabilities in this reliance, affecting both efficiency and continuity of services in commercial kitchens.

He emphasised that induction technology provides a practical and efficient alternative, significantly reducing dependence on LPG. With minimal heat dispersion, the system also creates a safer and more comfortable working environment for kitchen staff.

Additionally, induction-based cooking systems are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and allow precise temperature control, helping maintain consistent food quality. The technology is adaptable across various scales—from small eateries to large industrial food production units.

When implemented scientifically, the system can lead to substantial savings in fuel expenditure. Compared to traditional LPG-based kitchens, the company claims that up to 60% cost reduction is achievable.

Lorman Kitchen Equipments specialises in turnkey solutions for commercial induction kitchens, including design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. Dr. Chandramouli added that the current fuel challenges should be seen as an opportunity for the hospitality industry to modernise its kitchen infrastructure and adopt more sustainable practices.
