ಸೈಂಟ್ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಿಟಿಯ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗವು 2025–26ನೇ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಾಲಿನ ಮಾನವ ಸಂಪತ್ತು (HR) ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು “ವರ್ಕ್-ಲೈಫ್ ಬ್ಯಾಲೆನ್ಸ್” ಎಂಬ ಮಹತ್ವದ ವಿಷಯದಡಿ ದಿ ನೊಬಿಲಿ ಹಾಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜೃಂಭಣೆಯಿಂದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿತು.

ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವು ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ತಂಡದ ಭಾವಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ, ಅಧಿತಿ ಅವರ ಆತ್ಮೀಯ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಭಾಷಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿತ್ತು. ಡಾನ್ ಬಾಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಫಾ ಫೆಬಿನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಕರಾಗಿ ಹೊಣೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.

ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ HR ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಕೋರ್ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಡಾ. ಪ್ರೇಮಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಡಿ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ವಚನ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಯಿತು ಮತ್ತು ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಲೋಗೋವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.

ಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಗಣಪತಿ, ಖ್ಯಾತ ಬಹುರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಂಪನಿಯ HR ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಭಾಷಣ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ನವೀಕೃತ HR ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನಗಳು, ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹಾನುಭೂತಿಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಯಕತ್ವದ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಣಾತ್ಮಕ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರ ಭಾಷಣ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಯಿತು.

ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಫಾ. ಆಗುಸ್ಟಿನ್ ಲೋರ್ಡು (ಡೀನ್), ಡಾ. ಅಲನ್ ಗಾಡ್ಫ್ರೆ (ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಟ್ ಡೀನ್) ಹಾಗೂ ಡಾ. ವಯೊಲಾ ಮಾರಿಯಾ ನೊರೋನ್ಯಾ (ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥೆ) ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದು, ವಿಷಯದ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದರು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಈ ವೇದಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಶ್ಲಾಘಿಸಿದರು.

HR ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಚಾಲಕರಾದ ಫಾ. ಫ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ ಪಿಂಟೋ ಎಸ್‌ಜೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಫಾ. ಸೈಮನ್ ಪಾಲ್ ಡಿಸೋಜಾ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹುರಿದುಂಬಿಸಿದರು. ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ನಿರಂತರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಡಾ. ಪ್ರೇಮಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು.

ಹೊಸ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮಲನ್ ಜೆರೋಮ್ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನವನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ಸಹಕಾರ, ಕಲಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮತೋಲನದ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೆರೇಪಿಸಿದರು.

St. Joseph’s University Launches HR Forum 2025-26 with Emphasis on Work-Life Balance

Bengaluru, July 9, 2025: The School of Social Work at St. Joseph’s University inaugurated its HR Forum for the academic year 2025–26 with a strong focus on the theme “Work-Life Balance.” The inauguration ceremony, held at De Nobili Hall, began with the symbolic watering of a sapling—an emblem of holistic growth and the need for balance between personal and professional spheres.

The event opened with a soulful prayer by Dhairya and team, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Adithi. Comperes Don Boss and Safa Febin conducted the proceedings with poise and professionalism.

The newly elected core committee of the HR Forum took their oaths of office, administered by Dr Premajyothi D, who also serves as the forum’s coordinator. The team was formally introduced, and the official logo for the 2025–26 forum was unveiled, reflecting the values and vision of the initiative.

Delivering the keynote address, Ms Jyothi Ganapathy, HR Director at a leading multinational corporation, spoke on the changing role of HR professionals in promoting employee well-being. Her address offered insights into contemporary HR practices, mental health advocacy, and the importance of empathy in leadership. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A interaction with students.

Institutional dignitaries including Fr Agustin Lordu (Dean), Dr Alan Godfrey (Associate Dean), and Dr Viola Maria Noronha (Head, Department of Social Work) addressed the gathering, applauding the theme’s relevance and the student-led effort behind the forum.

Fr Francis Pinto SJ, faculty coordinator, commended the team for its initiative, while Fr Simon Paul D’Souza also extended his support through his presence at the event. Dr Premajyothi D was acknowledged for her continued guidance and mentorship.

In a special address, newly elected HR Forum President Amalan Jerome outlined his vision for the year, stressing the importance of collaboration, continuous learning, and upholding work-life balance in both academic and professional pursuits.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ancita Crasta, expressing gratitude to all guests, faculty, and students who contributed to the successful launch of the forum’s new academic year.

The 10th anniversary celebration of Swachha Parisara, a weekly newspaper dedicated to environmental awareness and social responsibility, was held with great enthusiasm at Gandhi Bhavan. The event featured a felicitation ceremony honoring achievers from various fields, alongside the distribution of school bags and notebooks to underprivileged students.

The event was inaugurated with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by the editorial team and dignitaries, including Editor Aravind Yogaraju, Honorary Editor Lion R. Venkatesh, Associate Editor Srinivas, senior physician Dr. Anjanappa, Raghunath, Hayath Beg, Girish, Ravishankar, G.S. Gopal Raaj, Praveen JK, and Ravikumar.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anjanappa emphasized the crucial role of journalism in correcting the course of society. “Simple habits like regular handwashing can significantly protect health. Farmers are the backbone of our nation, and their children must be empowered through education,” he said. He also cited Mahatma Gandhi’s emphasis on sanitation and added that rural health has improved with increased toilet construction in villages.

Dr. Anjanappa further advised parents and teachers to instill hygiene habits in children, such as trimming nails and maintaining clean hands, to ensure their healthy development. He also warned against neglecting dog bites, including those from domestic pets, due to the risk of rabies.

Congress leader Raghunath, speaking on the occasion, stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness in and around homes. “Segregating wet and dry waste and handing it over responsibly to sanitation workers is essential. True societal progress comes from educating underprivileged children by supporting them like one’s own,” he remarked.

Editor Aravind Yogaraju reflected on the newspaper’s journey, stating, “Swachha Parisara was started under the guidance of retired IAS officer Puttarangappa and Sachiva Shridhar. Over the past decade, with the support of Associate Editor Srinivas and others, the publication has continued to highlight important social issues. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಗಾಂಧಿಭವನ: ‘ಸ್ವಚ್ಚ ಪರಿಸರ’ ವಾರಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ 10ನೇ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕೋತ್ಸವವು ಗಾಂಧಿಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣನೀಯ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನೋಟ್ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್‌ಗಳ ವಿತರಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಡಾ. ಅಂಜನಪ್ಪ, “ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮವು ಸಮಾಜ ತಿದ್ದುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಕೈತೊಳೆಯುವ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸದಿಂದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕೈತೊಳೆಯುವ ಅರಿವು ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ರೈತ ದೇಶದ ಜೀವನಾಡಿ, ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಅವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿ, “ಮಹಾತ್ಮ ಗಾಂಧಿಜಿಯವರು ಸ್ವಚ್ಚತೆಯ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿದವರು. ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೌಚಾಲಯಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತಮತೆ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿದೆ. ನೊಣಗಳಿಂದ ಹರಡುವ ಸೋಂಕು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಆಹಾರ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಮುಖಂಡ ರಘುನಾಥ್ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ಮನೆ, ಮನೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಸ್ವಚ್ಚತೆ ಕಾಪಾಡುವುದು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ. ಬಡ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯೆ ದೊರಕಿಸುವಂತೆ ದತ್ತತ್ವದ ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ನೀಡಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯ ಸಂಪಾದಕರಾದ ಅರವಿಂದ್ ಯೋಗರಾಜು, “ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಐಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಪುಟ್ಟರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಚಿವ ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ರವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿ ಈಗ 10ನೇ ವರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪೂರೈಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಉತ್ತಮ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಕಾರ್ಯ,” ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಜುಲೈ 5, 2025: ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಗಾಂಧಿಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕೊರಚ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಮ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರನ್ನು ಸಭೆಯಿಂದ ಅಣಕವಾಗಿ ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟ ಕ್ರಮದ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಯಿತು. ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವ ಎಚ್. ಅಂಜನೇಯರವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಈ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮಾವೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ಮೊದಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಾಯಕರಿಗೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾನ ನೀಡದೇ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಅಖಿಲ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕೊರಚ ಮಹಾ ಸಭಾ (ರಿ) ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಆದರ್ಶ್ ಯಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ, ಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪ, ಸಿದ್ದೇಶ್ ಮಾದಪುರ, ಲೇಶಪ್ಪ, ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಸಿ., ಸುರೇಶ್ ಎನ್., ಕುಂಸಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್, ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಎಂ, ಶಿವಮೂರ್ತಿ ವಿ. ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವರು ಸಭೆಗೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಾಯಕರನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊರಚ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಮ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಉದ್ರಿಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತಿನ ಗುದ್ದಾಟ ನಡೆಯಿತು.

ಹಿಂದೆ 2016ರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸರ್ಕಾರ 101 ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ 51 ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಕೊರಚ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಮ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲವು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಕುತಂತ್ರದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ 49 ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಈ ದೋಷವನ್ನು 2018ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಿಯಾಂಕ್ ಖರ್ಗೆಯವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದ ಸಮಾಜ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಿ, ಎರಡೂ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿತು.

2011ರ ಜನಗಣತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಕೇವಲ 55,000 ಮಾತ್ರ ಇದ್ದು, ಇದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮಾನದಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಅತೀ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರು ಎಲ್ಲ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸವಲತ್ತುಗಳಿಗೂ ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ ಆದರ್ಶ್ ಯಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ ವಾದಿಸಿದರು.

ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸಿದ 49 ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ನಾಯಕರು ತೀವ್ರ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೊರಗಿಡಲು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೃತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿದರು. ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ವೇಗದ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಉಂಟಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವ ಎಚ್. ಅಂಜನೇಯರು ವೇದಿಕೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಶಮನಕರೆದು, ಎಲ್ಲ 51 ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಸಭೆ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಮುಖಂಡರು “ಅನುಮಾನಾತ್ಮಕ ಧೋರಣೆ, ಅನುದಾನ ವಂಚನೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅಸಮಾನತೆ ಖಂಡನೀಯ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅತಿಸಣ್ಣ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನ ಸಮಿತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನತೆ ಒದಗಿಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳಲಾಯಿತು.

ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ, ಕೊರಚ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ಮುಂದಿನ ಸಭೆಗಾಗಿ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು, ಸಮಸ್ತ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಹೋರಾಟ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
