Bengaluru City University (BCU) is set to host the Transform Career Fair 2025 on July 25, a large-scale event that merges a traditional job fair with an education expo. Scheduled to take place at the university’s New Academic Block, the fair aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and top employers from various sectors.

The initiative is supported by Edu Factory, QUESS, DevelUp, and Rotary Bangalore West, who join as knowledge partners to enhance the career-readiness of participants. The event will bring together over 60 corporate exhibitors, offering a wide range of job openings, internships, and career development resources.

Attendees will have the chance to connect directly with recruiters, participate in on-the-spot interviews, and attend expert-led sessions on resume writing, interview techniques, and career growth strategies.

“Our objective is to create an impactful platform where aspiring professionals can find the right career opportunities and build lasting industry connections,” said Prof. Jalaja K. “Citizens Penalised, But Who Holds the System Accountable?” asks G.S. Gopal Raaj

BENGALURU, July 24, 2025 – “Traffic penalties are swiftly imposed on citizens, but who takes responsibility for the system’s failures?” questioned G.S. Gopal Raaj, Editor of City Today News and Tj Vision Media, while highlighting the increasing frustration among urban commuters over civic and administrative apathy.

He pointed out that while common citizens face steep fines for various traffic violations —

Riding without a helmet (â‚ą1,000),

Illegal parking (â‚ą3,000),

Driving without insurance (â‚ą1,000),

Drunk driving (â‚ą10,000),

Entering no-entry zones (â‚ą5,000),

Using mobile phones while driving (â‚ą2,000),

Lacking pollution certificates (â‚ą1,100), and

Triple-seat riding (â‚ą2,000),


— serious civic failures continue without accountability.

“Pothole-ridden roads, malfunctioning traffic signals, encroached footpaths, unlit streets, stray animals on roads, and garbage-filled drains — all these endanger public safety. Yet no action is taken against the authorities responsible,” Gopal Raaj observed.

He further added, “If a citizen is penalised for failing to wear a helmet, why is there no penalty when a citizen is injured due to an unrepaired pothole? Why does the system remain silent when garbage clogs our roads or when unmonitored stray animals cause road accidents?”

Raaj criticised the lack of accountability among government departments and civic agencies, stating, “Citizens pay taxes, follow rules, and still suffer due to administrative negligence. It appears that only the public is bound by laws — the system seems exempt.”

Calling for balanced governance, he emphasised the need for equal responsibility and legal accountability for public authorities. “True governance demands fairness. It’s time the government and civic bodies are held answerable too,” he concluded.

Brigade Hotel Ventures IPO Opens on July 24; Price Band Set at â‚ą85–₹90

Bengaluru, July 23, 2025: Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited will open its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and close on Monday, July 28, 2025. The price band has been fixed at â‚ą85 to â‚ą90 per equity share of face value â‚ą10. Anchor investor bidding was completed on July 23.

The IPO comprises a fresh issue aggregating â‚ą759.6 crore. Investors can bid for a minimum of 166 equity shares, in multiples thereafter. Eligible employees will receive a â‚ą3 per share discount under the employee reservation portion.

Use of Proceeds

The company intends to utilise the proceeds for:

Repayment/prepayment of loans (â‚ą681.4 crore) of the company and its subsidiary, SRP Prosperita Hotel Ventures

Purchase of land from promoter Brigade Enterprises Limited (â‚ą107.52 crore)

Future acquisitions and general corporate purposes


Issue Structure

The IPO includes:

â‚ą75.96 crore reserved for employees

â‚ą303.84 crore for Brigade Enterprises Limited (BEL) shareholders

The remaining Net Issue is allocated as per SEBI norms:

QIBs: Minimum 75% (including anchor investors and mutual funds)

NIIs: Maximum 15%, divided by application size

Retail Investors: Maximum 10%



In case QIB subscription falls below 75%, the issue will be withdrawn and funds refunded.

All investors (except anchor investors) must apply through the ASBA mechanism, with UPI required for retail applicants.

Throughout his political career, he worked tirelessly for the welfare of the underprivileged, transcending barriers of caste and religion. One of his most notable contributions was his bold intervention to halt the demolition of the Mayabazaar slum by military authorities. His courageous stand protected countless families, and in recognition of his efforts, the area was later renamed P.K. Ranganatha Nagar.
