“ಡಾ. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರು ಕೇವಲ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಜನರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿ ಜ್ವಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಅಶ್ರಾಂತ ಹೋರಾಟವು ಇಂದು ಸಹ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿ, ಗೌರವ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯ ಮೂಲವಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಗೊಪಾಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸ್ಮರಣಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 14ರಂದು ಆಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಜಯಂತಿಯು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಹಾನ್ ಸಮಾಜ ಸುಧಾರಕ ಡಾ. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ನಾಯಕರು, ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಜನ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರು ಅವರ ಸಮಾನತೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸಬಲೀಕರಣದ ಆದರ್ಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸಿ ಗೌರವ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋಣ ಇಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಕವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗೊಪಾಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು. “ಜಾತಿ ಭೇದ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತ ಭಾರತದ ಕನಸು ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಕನಸು ಇನ್ನೂ ಸಾಕಾರವಾಗಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಅವರ ಆದರ್ಶಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ಶೋಷಿತರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
