Inaugurated by actor couple Darling Krishna and Milana Nagaraj, the store is among the largest outlets the company has established in Bengaluru and marks the launch of its new premium furniture collection, Casa Royal.

The inauguration was attended by Royaloak Furniture Chairman and Co-Founder Vijai Subramaniam and Managing Director Mathan Subramaniam.

The new outlet reflects changing furniture-buying preferences in Bengaluru, where customers are increasingly looking for large showrooms that offer a complete range of home furnishings in one place. Rather than visiting multiple specialised stores, buyers are showing greater interest in retail destinations where they can compare furniture, explore different styles and access interior planning services under one roof.

Spread across four floors, the showroom has separate sections for different furniture collections and home furnishing categories. The first floor features recliners and home décor, while the second houses the Italian Collections and Casa Royal. The third floor is dedicated to the Malaysian Collections, and the fourth showcases Wood World and the American Collections.

The store also includes dedicated sections for mattresses, House of Interiors and home décor. Four staff members are available on each floor to assist shoppers, while interior specialists offer consultation services through the House of Interiors division.

The launch of Casa Royal adds a premium segment to Royaloak’s existing portfolio, broadening its offering beyond its established value-oriented range. MAHE Bengaluru Walkathon Calls for Greater Mental Health Awareness and Open Conversations

Bengaluru, October 10: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Bengaluru Campus, in association with Maarga Mind Care, organised a 5K walkathon to mark World Mental Health Day, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness, early identification of psychological concerns and timely access to professional support.

Held under the theme “Walk for Health: Steps Towards Better Mental Health,” the initiative brought together students, faculty members, staff, healthcare professionals, local representatives, volunteers and community members to promote a more open and supportive approach to mental well-being.

The walkathon forms part of MAHE Bengaluru’s ongoing efforts to strengthen mental health awareness across educational institutions and the wider community. It also emphasised the need to create an environment where people feel comfortable discussing their mental health concerns and seeking help without fear of stigma or discrimination.

Mental health concerns among students and young people have drawn increasing attention in Bengaluru, with anxiety, family conflicts and academic pressure emerging as significant challenges. Findings from a 2026 study involving students across higher education institutions, along with counselling data, underline the importance of accessible support systems and early intervention.

S. R. Vishwanath, MLA representing Yelahanka constituency, flagged off the walkathon in the presence of Dr. Raghavendra Prabhu P., Additional Registrar, MAHE Bengaluru; Dr. Jothi Neeraja, Chairwoman of Maarga Mind Care; Mahadev, Executive Engineer, Lake Division, BNCC, Yelahanka; and Chandu C. N., President of the Yelahanka United Environmental Association.

Addressing the gathering, MLA S. R. Vishwanath said mental health deserved the same attention as physical health. He noted that initiatives such as the walkathon helped bring people together, encourage healthy habits and create awareness about mental well-being. He also stressed that open conversations and strong community support were essential to building a healthier society.

Dr. Raghavendra Prabhu P. said MAHE Bengaluru considered mental health and well-being integral to students’ overall campus experience. He added that the institution was committed to fostering understanding, empathy and access to support through continued engagement with students, healthcare partners and the wider community.

Dr. Jothi Neeraja, Founder, Chairwoman and Managing Director of Maarga Mind Care, said mental health needed to become an equally important part of Bengaluru’s progress in healthcare, education and innovation.

She emphasised the need to move beyond crisis-based intervention towards early identification of mental health concerns and easier access to appropriate care. She also highlighted the role of individuals, families, educational institutions and workplaces in recognising concerns early and supporting people through treatment and recovery.

The event also highlighted the link between regular physical activity and mental well-being, encouraging participants to incorporate exercise into their daily routines to manage stress and maintain overall health. Organisers reiterated that seeking professional help was a sign of strength and an important step towards recovery.

Participants began the programme with a warm-up session before completing the walk along the Allalasandra Lake loop.

The event was organised by MAHE Bengaluru in association with Maarga Mind Care, its mental health and well-being partner, with support from the Volunteer Services Organization, National Service Scheme, National Cadet Corps and Manipal Hospitals.

ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 17ರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಮಾವೇಶ

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಗೋವಿನ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ, ಗೋ ಹತ್ಯೆ ನಿಷೇಧ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋ ಸಂತತಿಯ ಸಂವರ್ಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಹಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಾಧು-ಸಂತರು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಠಾಧೀಶರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಮೂರನೇ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ 31 ಕೋಟಿ ಸಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸುವ ಗುರಿ ಹೊಂದಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ 3 ಕೋಟಿ ಸಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಬರುವ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 17ರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಅರಮನೆ ಮೈದಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಮಾವೇಶ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸುಮಾರು ಐದು ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಆಯೋಜಕರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಗೋವು ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರದ ಜೀವಾಳ
ತಾಯಿಯ ಹಾಲಿನ ನಂತರ ಮಾನವನಿಗೆ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕ ಆಹಾರ ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಗೋವಿನ ಹಾಲು, ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರ ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಗೋಮಯ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋಮೂತ್ರವನ್ನು ಸಾವಯವ ಕೃಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಫಲವತ್ತತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಗೋಕೃಪಾಮೃತ, ಗೋ ಅರ್ಕ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಗೋ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನಗಳು ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿವೆ. ಗೋಬರ ಅನಿಲವೂ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ಇಂಧನ ಮೂಲವಾಗಿ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಆಯಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವಿಗೆ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ. ಗೋವುಗಳನ್ನು ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ಮಾತೆಯರೆಂದು ಬಣ್ಣಿಸುವ “ಗಾವೋ ವಿಶ್ವಸ್ಯ ಮಾತರಃ” ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಗೋವಿನ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಯೋಜಕರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಗೋ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮನವಿ
ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋ ಸಂತತಿಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುವುದು ಈ ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಗೋ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರು ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳು:

ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಗೋ ಹತ್ಯೆ ನಿಷೇಧ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಬೇಕು.
ಹಾಲು ನೀಡದ, ಅಶಕ್ತ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಗೋವುಗಳ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಗೋ ಸಂತತಿಯ ಸಂವರ್ಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಗೋ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಬೇಕು.
ಗೋವುಗಳ ಮೇಯುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಗೋಮಾಳದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಮೀಸಲಿಡಬೇಕು.
ಗೋ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೋ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.

ಗೋವು ಕೇವಲ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯಲ್ಲ, ಅದು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಅವಿಭಾಜ್ಯ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪಿತ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪಕ್ಷಿ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪ್ರಾಣಿಯಂತೆ ಗೋವಿಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಾತೆಯ ಸ್ಥಾನಮಾನ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದು ಅಭಿಯಾನದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಶಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಯೋಜಕರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಎರಡು ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 20 ಕೋಟಿ ಸಹಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ
1966ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕರಪಾತ್ರಿ ಮಹಾರಾಜರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಗೋ ಆಂದೋಲನದ ನಂತರದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಗೋ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾ ಅಭಿಯಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೂ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆಯೋಜಕರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕಳೆದ ನವೆಂಬರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವೃಂದಾವನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಂತರ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಗೊಂಡ ನಿರ್ಣಯದಂತೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಹಂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಎರಡು ಹಂತಗಳು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿವೆ. ಮೊದಲ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಕೋಟಿ ಸಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ತಹಶೀಲ್ದಾರ್‌ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಎರಡನೇ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ 15 ಕೋಟಿ ಸಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈ ಅಭಿಯಾನಕ್ಕೆ ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಬೆಂಬಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳೂ ಬೆಂಬಲ ಸೂಚಿಸಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಎಂದು ಆಯೋಜಕರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ

ನಗರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ನಾಡಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಾಧು-ಸಂತರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಠಾಧೀಶರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಗೂ ತಾಲೂಕು ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಮಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಿ ಅಭಿಯಾನವನ್ನು ಸಂಘಟಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

Industry leaders highlight the need for stronger domestic capabilities in battery storage, smart grids, power electronics and advanced energy technologies

Bengaluru, October 8, 2026: Bengaluru is emerging as an important hub in India’s rapidly expanding battery energy storage sector, with industry and technology leaders stressing the need to strengthen domestic capabilities in advanced batteries, grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), power electronics, smart-grid technologies, battery management and research.

The observations were made at a media roundtable organised by Informa Markets in India in Bengaluru ahead of the fourth edition of The Battery Show India, scheduled to be held from October 22 to 24 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

The discussions assumed significance following the Government’s recent approval of a ₹50,000-crore incentive scheme for 50 GWh of BESS deployment, as part of a larger ₹1.86 lakh-crore programme aimed at strengthening renewable energy integration and transmission infrastructure.

The roundtable brought together senior representatives from the energy storage, smart-grid, research, power systems, industrial technology and market intelligence sectors. Participants included Ramesh Shivanna, Director, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI); Amol Kotwal, Vice President – Energy & Environment Growth Advisory, Frost & Sullivan; Prof. Aninda J. Bhattacharyya, Professor and J.C. Bose National Fellow, Indian Institute of Science; IB Rao, Managing Director, POM Power Systems; Tirumaleswara Reddy K, Co-Founder and CTO, Smartgrid Analytics; Venugopal Rao Maddisetty, Chairman and Managing Director, Pace Digitek Ltd and Lineage Power Pvt Ltd, along with Rajneesh Khattar, Senior Group Director, Informa Markets in India.

Rajneesh Khattar said India’s energy transition is moving beyond renewable energy capacity addition towards the larger challenge of integrating renewable power into the grid in a reliable and efficient manner.

According to him, the Central Electricity Authority has projected a requirement of 236 GWh of BESS by 2031-32, while the Government’s approval for 50 GWh of BESS deployment under the Green Energy Corridor highlights the growing scale of the opportunity.

He said energy storage would increasingly become a critical component of India’s power infrastructure, requiring simultaneous progress in battery technologies, manufacturing, grid integration, power management, safety and digital intelligence.

Khattar also highlighted Bengaluru’s strong technology ecosystem, research institutions, engineering talent and smart-grid capabilities, stating that the city is well positioned to contribute to India’s energy transition. He said The Battery Show India would provide an important platform for technology collaboration, industry partnerships and new business opportunities.

Karnataka strengthens clean-energy ecosystem

Karnataka is also gaining importance in India’s clean-energy and electric mobility landscape, supported by its strong technology, research and engineering ecosystem.

The state had 6,805 public EV charging stations as of March 31, 2026, making it the second-highest among Indian states. In addition, 1,571 EV chargers have been approved for Karnataka under the PM E-DRIVE scheme.

The state’s clean mobility policy also envisages dedicated charging and battery-swapping infrastructure along key transport corridors, including the Bengaluru-Pune and Bengaluru-Mysuru highways.

Bengaluru’s research ecosystem further strengthens its position in advanced energy technologies. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has ongoing research programmes covering batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, power electronics, EV charging and battery management systems.

Industry leaders emphasised that stronger collaboration between research institutions and industry will be essential to develop and commercialise next-generation energy technologies.

The discussions also underlined the importance of building an integrated ecosystem connecting battery manufacturing, BESS, renewable energy, grid management, power electronics and digital intelligence. Participants stressed that technology development, safety standards, manufacturing capacity and commercial deployment must advance together to support India’s long-term energy transition.

The Battery Show India to bring global industry together

The fourth edition of The Battery Show India, to be held from October 22 to 24 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, is expected to bring together 300 exhibitors and more than 400 brands from countries including Korea, Japan, Germany and China.

The event will feature a dedicated German Pavilion and a specialised BESS Hall, with participation from leading companies including CATL, Lineage Power, Hithium, POM Power Systems, DDEV Group and IPower Battery, among others.

Supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the exhibition will also feature more than 40 conference sessions, an Energy Storage Summit, four CXO conclaves and over 500 industry speakers and moderators.

Held alongside the Renewable Energy India Expo, the event is expected to provide a wider platform for stakeholders across electric mobility, battery technology, renewable energy, energy storage and grid infrastructure.

The industry gathering comes at a crucial stage for India as the country works to build a safer, more resilient and self-reliant energy storage ecosystem capable of supporting its growing renewable energy ambitions.
