Rising Infertility Rates in India Spark Urgent Call for Early Diagnosis and Holistic Care

Bengaluru, India – February 23, 2025 – Infertility is rapidly becoming a significant public health concern in India, with experts at the Comprehensive Infertility Conclave (CIC) 2025 urging couples to seek early diagnosis and comprehensive fertility care. Studies reveal that male factors contribute to nearly 50% of infertility cases, highlighting the need for a balanced approach to diagnosis and treatment.

The CIC 2025, organized by the Global Health Academy and attended by over 300 leading gynecologists in Bengaluru, focused on the latest advancements in reproductive medicine and the critical role of lifestyle modifications. The event aimed to provide new insights and solutions for infertility management, offering hope to couples struggling with conception.

“Recent studies suggest that 40-50% of infertility cases are linked to male factors,” stated Dr. Praveen Joshi, Organizing Chairman of CIC 2025. “We have witnessed a steady rise, particularly among younger men, due to factors like low sperm count, poor motility, hormonal imbalances, and lifestyle habits. Rising pollution levels in cities like Bengaluru are also contributing to declining sperm health.”

Data from the National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS-5) (2019-20) indicates that infertility affects about 18.7 in every 1,000 married women aged 15-49. In Karnataka, the District Level Household and Facility Survey (DLHS) shows that about 5.9% of ever-married women face infertility issues, with slightly higher numbers in rural areas.

“Despite advancements in reproductive medicine, infertility remains a stigmatized and underdiagnosed issue, particularly among men,” said Chief Guest Dr. B. S. Ajaikumar, Executive Chairman of HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. “Infertility should not be viewed as solely a female issue. Encouraging men to seek timely medical evaluation is crucial for successful treatment outcomes.”

Dr. Meghana Nyapathi, Organizing Secretary of CIC 2025, urged couples facing conception difficulties to undergo medical evaluations together. “Infertility is a shared concern. Men experiencing fertility issues should consider semen analysis and hormonal testing at an early stage. Timely diagnosis and medical intervention can significantly improve the chances of conception.”

Medical advancements offer a range of treatment options, including lifestyle modifications, medications, and assisted reproductive technologies (ART) such as Intrauterine insemination (IUI), In Vitro fertilization (IVF), and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). Cutting-edge techniques like micro-TESE (microsurgical testicular sperm extraction) and sperm DNA fragmentation testing are also available for complex cases.

Experts at the conclave stressed the urgent need for public awareness campaigns to tackle misconceptions surrounding infertility. “A comprehensive approach is essential to reducing the burden of infertility in India,” said Dr. Anjali Ajai Kumar, Executive Director at HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd. “This includes early diagnosis, lifestyle modifications, and access to cutting-edge fertility treatments.”

ಕಡಿಮೆ ಆದಾಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಮರುಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ‘ದಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್’ನ ಕೆಲವು ನವೀನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಭದ್ರ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.

“ಸಾಯಿದೇವಿ ಸಂಜೀವಿರಾಜ ಅವರು ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪುನರ್ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯ ಕಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರು, ತಮ್ಮ ‘ಥಿಕೆಟ್ ಟೇಲ್ಸ್’ ಮೂಲಕ ಸ್ಥಳ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳು, ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ನಡಿಗೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳುವಿಕೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಲ್ಲೀನಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ 770 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.” ಎಂದು ಸಂದೀಪ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.

‘ದಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ’ 30ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಹಾಕಿದೆ, 5,000+ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ 18 ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ 8,500 ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. 2028 ರ ವೇಳೆಗೆ 25,000 ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಲುಪುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ನವೀನ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆಧುನಿಕ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ನವೀನ ಶಾಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಲೆಯ ನಂತರದ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ‘ದಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ’ ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವಕ್ಫ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅನ್ವರ್ ಭಾಷಾ ಅವರು ಭಾರೀ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಯಂಗ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಗಂಭೀರ ಆರೋಪ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ತನಿಖೆಗೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ದಾದಾಪೀರ್, ಅಜ್ಮಲ್ ಅಹಮದ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಯಂಗ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಅನ್ವರ್ ಭಾಷಾ ಅವರು ಅಧಿಕಾರ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ, ಅಕ್ರಮಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅನುದಾನ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು.
ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆರೋಪಗಳು:
* ಭೂ ಕಬಳಿಕೆ:
   * ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದ ಅಗಸನಕಲ್ಲು ಬಡಾವಣೆಯ ಖಬರಸ್ತಾನ್ (ಸ್ಮಶಾನ) ಜಮೀನನ್ನು ಅನ್ವರ್ ಭಾಷಾ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಕಬಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ರಮೀಜಾ ಮೈನಾರಿಟಿ ವೆಲ್ಸ್‌ವೇರ್ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಶಾಲಾ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
   * ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದ ಬಳಿ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸ್ಮಶಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಮಂಜೂರಾದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ವಕ್ಫ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಕಬಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಮುಖಂಡ ಎನ್.ಆರ್. ರಮೇಶ್ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ದೂರು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
* ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಅಕ್ರಮಗಳು:
   * ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ವಕ್ಫ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಅಕ್ರಮ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
   * ಅರ್ಹ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಅನರ್ಹರಿಗೆ ಮತದಾನದ ಹಕ್ಕು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
   * ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಆದಾಯ 2 ಲಕ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇರುವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಮತದಾನದ ಹಕ್ಕು ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
* ಅನುದಾನ ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ:
   * ಅಲ್ಪಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅನುದಾನವನ್ನು ದುರ್ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
   * 2014-15 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ವಕ್ಸ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದಂತಹ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ವಕ್ಫ್ ಉಮೇನ್ ಪೌಂಡೇಷನ್ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಸಮಾಜದ ಬಡ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ನಾನಾ ತರಬೇತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಸಹಾಯಧವನ್ನು ಎನ್.ಜಿ.ಓ.ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ.ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು, ಕೆ.ಅನ್ವರ್ ಬಾಷ ರವರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಂಶಸ್ಥರು, ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಕರಿಗೆ ಎನ್.ಜಿ.ಓ.ಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಂತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಈ ಹಣವನ್ನು ದುರ್ಬಳಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾದಂತಹ ತರಬೇತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
* ಇತರ ಆರೋಪಗಳು:
   * ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹಾಸ್ಟೆಲ್ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ರಮ.
   * ವಕ್ಫ್‌ಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಆದಾಯ ವರದಿ ಆಡಿಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಸದಿರುವುದು.
ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಯಂಗ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳು:
* ಅನ್ವರ್ ಭಾಷಾ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಉನ್ನತ ಮಟ್ಟದ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು.
* ಅವರ ಸದಸ್ಯತ್ವವನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
* ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

2023ರ ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಾ. ಜಿ. ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಅವರ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಚಿತವಾದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪ್ರಣಾಳಿಕೆ ಅರ್ಚಕರು ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಿತ್ತು. ಇದನ್ನು ಇಂದು ಹೊಸ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಮೋದಿಸುವಂತೆ ಅರ್ಚಕರ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದೆ.

ಅರ್ಚಕರ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳು:

1. ಕಳೆದ 10 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಮಾಸಿಕ ₹5,000 ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ತಸ್ತೀಕ್ ಮೊತ್ತವನ್ನು ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ₹10,000 ಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಸಲು ಒತ್ತಾಯ.


2. 60 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಅರ್ಚಕರಿಗೆ ಗೌರವ ನಿಧಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಾಸಿಕ ಗೌರವ ವೇತನ ನೀಡುವುದು.


3. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಸಮೀಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಅರ್ಚಕರಿಗೆ ವಸತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವುದು.


4. ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ “ಸಿ” ವರ್ಗದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸುವುದು.


5. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅಕ್ರಮ ಒತ್ತುವರಿಯಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಲು ವಿಶೇಷ ತಂಡ ರಚನೆ.



ಕಳೆದ 2024ರ ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ 21ರಂದು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಮಾವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಡಿ.ಕೆ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್, ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ. ಜಿ. ಪರಮೇಶ್ವರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಸಚಿವ ರಾಮಲಿಂಗ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅವರು ಈ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಕಾನೂನಿನ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಗಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದೆ

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿಧಾನಸಭೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಒಮ್ಮತದಿಂದ ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿರುವ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಕಾನೂನಿನ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ಈಗ ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರ ಒಪ್ಪಿಗೆಗಾಗಿ ರಾಜಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಮಸೂದೆ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಮುಜರಾಯಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬಿಯಾಗಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ.

ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಅಖಿಲ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳ ಅರ್ಚಕರ, ಆಗಮಿಕರ ಮತ್ತು ಉಪಾಧಿವಂತರ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ (ರಿ.) ರಾಜ್ಯಪಾಲರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರುದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಪ್ರಮುಖರು ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar partners with Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital in a major new campaign to raise awareness about eye health.
For over two decades, the hospital has been performing 100 free eye surgeries annually as a tribute to Sachin Tendulkar

Bengaluru, 21 February 2025: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, India’s largest eye hospital chain with over 67 years of legacy and 223 hospitals globally, has roped in Sachin Tendulkar as its new brand ambassador. For the past 21 years, the hospital has been performing free eye surgeries on 100 patients annually under its ‘100 Centuries, 100 Patients’ program—a tribute to the Cricketing Legend. This is in addition to the 2 lakh surgeries performed in a year while serving 2 million patients annually.

The collaboration commenced with two television commercials that were well-received by the masses. The first advertisement play’s on one of Sachin’s biggest fan confusing him with his lookalike only for the real Sachin to step in and save the day for his fan. In the second advertisement,  The Master Blaster is paired with the renowned Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath, which evokes the nostalgia of the 1990s for cricket fans.
