ಕಳೆದ ಅನೇಕ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕರಾವಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಡಗು ಭಾಗದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ,ಆದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಐದು ಪಟ್ಟು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಭಾಗದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಬಾರಿಯೂ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಐವಾನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಮತ್ತೆ ಅದೇ ಭಾಗದ ಐವಾನ್ ಡಿಸೋಜ ಅವರನ್ನು ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ತಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೆಪಿಸಿಸಿ ಮಾನವ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಡಾ.ಯೂನಸ್ ಜೋನ್ಸ್ ಬೇಸರ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಎಸ್.ಎಂ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ, ಧರ್ಮಸಿಂಗ್ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಡಗು ಭಾಗದ ಟಿ.ಜಾನ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ವಿಧಾನ ಪರಿಷತ್ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಚಿವರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಕ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಧಾನ ಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾಗಿರುವ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಕೆ.ಜೆ.ಜಾರ್ಜ್ ಹೊರತು ಪಡಿಸಿದರೆ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಕಳೆದ ವಿಧಾನ ಸಭಾ,ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾಗದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಬಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಮುಂಬರುವ ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಹಿನ್ನಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದವರಿಗೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಾಠರು 10 ಸಂಸದೀಯ ಮತ್ತು 40 ವಿಧಾನಸಭಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಾಯಕ ಅಂಶವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಭಾವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಸುಮಾರು 50 ಲಕ್ಷ ಜನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂಬ ಅಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವುಗಳು ಹೊತ್ತು ನೀಡಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಾಠ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ಹಿಂದುತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತದ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಗರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರಾಠರು ಪಕ್ಷ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಿಂದಲೂ ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪರವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
