Background of Establishment
With the vision that “education is the foundation of comprehensive community development,” the Ediga Association was established in 1944 with the aim of promoting education among the youth of the community. The state-level conferences held in 1958 and 1962 played a crucial role in laying a strong foundation for unity among various sub-groups of the community based on occupational equality.

Through sustained efforts in education, organization, and social development, the community has continued its journey toward holistic progress. Recognizing the need for a dedicated and structured support system for the education of girl students, the Karnataka Arya Ediga Women’s Association was founded in 1988 under the leadership of noted social worker Dr. Nalinakshi Sannappa.

Supporting rehabilitation and welfare of poor and destitute women.
Promoting professional education and employment opportunities
Supporting the movement against dowry, encouraging simple marriages, and advocating remarriage of widows

The Association has expanded its activities across Karnataka, establishing branches in regions including Shivamogga, Sagara, Nagamangala, and Hunsur. Thousands of Devotees Seek Sri Raghavendra Swamy’s Blessings on New Year

Bengaluru: Marking the New Year with devotion and faith, thousands of devotees thronged the Nanjangud Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt at Jayanagar 5th Block to seek the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
On the auspicious Thursday, special abhisheka and other rituals were performed under the divine guidance and blessings of Parama Poojya Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Teertha Sripadangalavaru, and under the leadership of the Mutt’s senior administrator R.K. Vadeendracharya. The rituals were conducted in a spiritually charged atmosphere, drawing a massive gathering of devotees.

As part of the special New Year observances, the Brindavana of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy was adorned with Navaratna Kavacha and floral decorations. A newly installed Navaratna idol of Guru Raghavendra Swamy placed in front of the Brindavana was offered special worship. In addition, special poojas were performed to Lord Srinivasa seated on a golden throne and King Prahlada in a golden cradle, informed chief priest Sri Nandakishoracharya.

Thousands of devotees visited the sanctum, lit lamps, offered prayers and archana, and received Theertha, Phala, Mantrakshate and Annasantharpane Mahaprasada, seeking the divine grace of Sri Raghavendra Swamy on the occasion of the New Year.
The Mutt had made meticulous arrangements to ensure smooth darshan and distribution of prasada, enabling devotees to move in an orderly manner despite the heavy rush. Devotees expressed immense satisfaction with the well-organised facilities and lauded the efforts of the Mutt’s administration and staff.
Compared to regular Thursdays, an exceptionally large number of devotees participated in the rituals, turning the entire premises—inside the temple, the Mutt’s front yard, and surrounding areas—into a sea of devotees immersed in devotion.
Addressing the gathering, senior administrator R.K. Vadeendracharya prayed that the blessings of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy may remain eternally upon all devotees and service volunteers who took part in the special Thursday services.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಡಿ.26: ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ನಗರದ ಕೌಲ್‌ಬಜಾರ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ದಾನಪ್ಪಬೀದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಂಡಿಹಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳ ಬಡ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಅಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಮಾಜಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎನ್. ಪ್ರತಾಪರೆಡ್ಡಿ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸರಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಕಾನೂನು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಭೂಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಸತಿ ಹಕ್ಕು ವಂಚಿತರ ಹೋರಾಟ ಸಮಿತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಮತಳ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

ಶುಕ್ರವಾರ ನಗರ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಸುದ್ದಿಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಅವರು, 1970ರ ದಶಕದಲ್ಲಿ 715ಎ ಸರ್ವೆ ನಂಬರ್‌ನ ಇನಾಂ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟು 1080 ಎಕರೆ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣ ಇದ್ದು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿನ 134 ಎಕರೆ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಆಗಿನ ಭೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಂಡಳಿ 17 ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಭೂಮಿ ಮೊದಲು ದಿವಂಗತ ರಾಜರಾಜೇಶ್ವರಿಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಪುತ್ರ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಇನಾಂ ಭೂಮಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ಇನಾಂ ಭೂಮಿ ರದ್ದತಿ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಜಾರಿಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಇದೇ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟೆನಂಟ್‌ಗಳಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಏಳು ಮಾದಿಗ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು, ನಾಲ್ಕು ಕುರುಬ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು, ಐದು ಮಡಿವಾಳ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಒಂದು ಈಡಿಗರ ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಭೂ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಿಂದ ಫಾರಂ ನಂ.10 ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಹಕ್ಕುಪತ್ರಗಳು ಫಲಾನುಭವಿಗಳ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಆ ದಿನದಿಂದಲೇ ಈ ಕುಟುಂಬಗಳು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬದುಕು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಮತಳ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಆದರೆ 2006ರ ಬಳಿಕ ಪ್ರತಾಪರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟ ನಂತರ ಗೂಂಡಾಗಿರಿ, ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಬಡವರ ಬದುಕು ಅಸ್ತವ್ಯಸ್ತಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಮಾದಿಗ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕೆಲ ಭೂಮಾಲೀಕರು ಬಳ್ಳಾರಿ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌರಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಾಗಿ ಕಸ ಗುಡಿಸುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಡಿವಾಳ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕೆಲವರು ಭಯದಿಂದ ಊರು ತೊರೆದರೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರು ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ, “ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪಡೆದೇ ತೀರುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಎಂಬ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನದಿಂದ ಕೆಲವರು ಹೋರಾಟ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಸರಕಾರವೇ ನೀಡಿದ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಆಡಳಿತದ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಲ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳಿಂದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಕಗ್ಗಂಟಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹಣ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧಿಕಾರದ ದುರುಪಯೋಗ ನಡೆದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳೂ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಸಮಗ್ರ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ತಪ್ಪಿತಸ್ಥ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಹಾಗೂ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಆಗಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ಮರಿಯಪ್ಪ ಕೆ. ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ಬಡವರ ಪರ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸರಕಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ಭೂಮಾಫಿಯಾದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವವರ ಪರ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದು ವಿಷಾದಕರ. ಬಡವರು ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯಿಂದ ಬದುಕುವ ಹಕ್ಕು ಹೊಂದಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೂ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಂದಾಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮೌನವಾಗಿರುವುದು ಯಾರ ಪರ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುತ್ತದೆ” ಎಂದು ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕಂದಾಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರವೇ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ತೊಂದರೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದು, ಸರಕಾರ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
