HCG Starts Patient Treatment on Karnataka’s First Elekta Unity MR-Linac

Bengaluru, August 5: HealthCare Global Enterprises (HCG) has commenced patient treatment using Karnataka’s first Elekta Unity MR-Linac, marking a significant advancement in precision cancer care. The technology introduces MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy to the state, offering patients in Karnataka and neighbouring regions access to one of the most advanced forms of radiation treatment available today.

The Elekta Unity MR-Linac integrates a high-resolution 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with a linear accelerator, enabling clinicians to monitor the tumour and surrounding organs in real time during every treatment session. This allows doctors to modify the radiation plan based on changes in the patient’s anatomy, ensuring highly accurate tumour targeting while minimising radiation exposure to healthy tissues.

The launch comes at a time when cancer cases are rising steadily across India. According to estimates by the Global Cancer Observatory (GLOBOCAN), the country is expected to record nearly 2.08 million new cancer cases by 2040, representing a 57.5 per cent increase over 2020 figures. Experts say such trends underscore the need for more personalised and adaptive treatment technologies.

Dr. B.S. Ajaikumar, Founder and Chairman of HealthCare Global Enterprises Ltd., said the introduction of the MR-Linac represents another milestone in HCG’s commitment to precision medicine. He noted that adaptive radiation therapy enables doctors to focus radiation more accurately on the tumour while significantly reducing or even eliminating unnecessary exposure to surrounding healthy tissue. Sumadhura Group Signs JDA for 17 Acres in East Bengaluru, Targets ₹3,500 Crore Residential Project

Bengaluru, August 4: Realty developer Sumadhura Group has entered into a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a 17-acre land parcel along the fast-growing Whitefield–Kannamangala corridor in East Bengaluru. The proposed premium residential development is expected to have a Gross Development Value (GDV) of around ₹3,500 crore and will offer more than 2.5 million sq. ft. of saleable residential space.

The project further strengthens the company’s presence in East Bengaluru, a region that continues to witness robust residential demand owing to its proximity to major IT hubs and improving urban infrastructure.

The Whitefield–Kannamangala corridor has emerged as one of the city’s preferred residential destinations, combining a relatively green and peaceful environment with easy access to employment centres such as ITPL and the wider technology corridor.

The locality also enjoys strong connectivity through the Whitefield (Kadugodi) and Pattandur Agrahara Metro stations, in addition to the Whitefield Railway Station, enabling convenient travel across Bengaluru.

Adding to its appeal is the nearby Atal Bihari Vajpayee Botanical Garden, one of the city’s largest green spaces, along with a well-developed social ecosystem comprising reputed educational institutions, healthcare facilities and other essential civic infrastructure. Commenting on the development, Madhusudhan G, Chairman and Managing Director of Sumadhura Group, said the agreement marks another important milestone in the company’s long-standing journey in East Bengaluru. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಆ. 4: ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಶೇಷ ಮತದಾರರ ತೀವ್ರ ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆ (SIR) ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಗೊಂದಲ ಮತ್ತು ಆತಂಕ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ‘SIR ವಿರೋಧಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ’ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಅಂಕಿ-ಅಂಶಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸುಮಾರು 1.10 ಕೋಟಿ (19.95%) ಮತದಾರರು ಡಿಲೀಷನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿರುವುದು ಗಂಭೀರ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಸುಮಾರು 40% ತಲುಪುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಡಿಲೀಷನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಹುತೇಕರು ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟವರು ಅಥವಾ ನಕಲಿ ಮತದಾರರಲ್ಲ; ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬೇರೆಡೆಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಂಡವರು ಹಾಗೂ BLO ಮನೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ ವೇಳೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರು. ಇಂತಹ ಜೀವಂತ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವುದು ಅವರ ಮತದಾನದ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಆತಂಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.

ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 34 ಲಕ್ಷ ‘ಮ್ಯಾಪಿಂಗ್ ಆಗದ’ ಮತದಾರರು ಹಾಗೂ ‘ಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಡಿಸ್ಕ್ರೆಪೆನ್ಸಿ’ ವಿಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದವರ ಕುರಿತು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟನೆ ನೀಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್‌ವೇರ್‌ನ ಕಾರ್ಯವಿಧಾನ, ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು ಅನುಮಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆ.

ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕೇವಲ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಅಥವಾ ಮನೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ವೇಳೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗದ ಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದು ಕೋಟಿ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಡಿಲೀಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ?
ಹಲವು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್ಯುಮರೇಷನ್ ಫಾರ್ಮ್‌ಗಳ 100% ವಿತರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಡಿಜಿಟಲೀಕರಣ ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಘೋಷಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಫಾರ್ಮ್ ಸಿಗದೆ ಪರದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮತದಾರರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಉತ್ತರವೇನು?

ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ, SIR ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸವೇ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಾರದರ್ಶಕತೆಯ ಕೊರತೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದೆ. ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ತರಬೇತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ BLOಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತ್ವರಿತವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನಡೆಸಿರುವುದು ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಂಡವರು ಹಾಗೂ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ಡಿಲೀಟ್ ಪಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸುವ ವಿಧಾನವೇ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದೋಷ ಎಂದು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ ಆರೋಪಿಸಿದೆ.

ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯ
ಒಕ್ಕೂಟವು ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಕೆಳಕಂಡ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದೆ:
ಡಿಲೀಷನ್ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕುರಿತು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಅವಲೋಕನ ನಡೆಸಿ, ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಕ್ಕೂ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಬೇಕು.
ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಂಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಮನೆಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ವೇಳೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗದ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಡಿಲೀಟ್ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು.
ಎನ್ಯುಮರೇಷನ್ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿ, ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ವಿಳಾಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಂದಣಿ ಹಾಗೂ ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಅಕ್ರಮ ಡಿಲೀಷನ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರೆ ಹಾಗೂ SIR ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ತೀವ್ರ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದೆ.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು, ಆ. 1: ಕೃಷಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯ, ಕೃಷಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿನ ಆತಂಕ ಹಾಗೂ ICAR ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಪಡೆದ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದವೀಧರರ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ವಿವಿಧ ಕೃಷಿ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಳೆದ 17 ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಶಾಂತಿಯುತ ಸತ್ಯಾಗ್ರಹ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇದಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳು, ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದಿರುವುದು ಬೇಸರದ ಸಂಗತಿ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ತಮ್ಮ ನ್ಯಾಯಯುತ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಈಡೇರಿಸದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕೃಷಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದವೀಧರರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಫ್ರೀಡಂ ಪಾರ್ಕ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ನಡೆಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೃಷಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ AICTE ಮಾನ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಸೇವಾ ಮತ್ತು ನೇಮಕಾತಿ (C&R) ನಿಯಮಗಳಿಗೆ ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಈ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ICAR ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಪಡೆದ ಕೃಷಿ ಪದವೀಧರರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅರ್ಹತೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ICAR ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಕೃಷಿ ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಅಥವಾ ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ಸಂಯೋಜನೆ (Affiliation) ನೀಡುವುದನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.
DAESI ಯೋಜನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾದ ಅಕ್ರಮಗಳು, ಅಸಮಾನತೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಆಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಅವರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು. ಕೃಷಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ AO, AAO ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷ ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಜಾರಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದೂ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
