Bengaluru: As part of its ongoing commitment to community health and preventive eye care, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital organised a special vision protection initiative for police personnel serving in Bengaluru’s West Division. More than 600 officers from Vijayanagar, Magadi Road, Kamakshipalya, Basaveshwaranagar, Agrahara, Govindarajanagar and West Women Police Stations received complimentary spectacles and sunglasses under the programme.
The initiative was aimed at safeguarding the eye health of police personnel, who often spend long hours outdoors under intense sunlight, heat and dusty conditions. Such prolonged exposure can lead to eye strain and increase the risk of long-term vision problems. Along with distributing vision aids, the hospital also encouraged officers to adopt preventive eye care practices and maintain proper hydration while on duty.
The programme also created awareness about Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital’s empanelment under the Arogya Bhagya Yojane (ABY) health scheme, which enables police personnel and their families to avail comprehensive and quality eye care services.

The distribution ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Yathish N., IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Division, Bengaluru City, and Sri Bhoothe Gowda V.S., KSPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vijayanagara Sub-Division. Senior representatives from Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, including Dr Rakesh Seenappa, Regional Head – Retina Services, and Mr Dheeraj E.T., Vice President – Operations & Business, were also present on the occasion.

He emphasised that good vision is crucial for officers to perform their duties safely and effectively, and added that the initiative was a gesture of gratitude for their dedicated service.
