
Bengaluru: The seven-day 355th Aradhana Mahotsava of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy commenced with religious fervour at Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bengaluru.
The inaugural ceremony was conducted under the guidance of His Holiness Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Theertha Sripadangalavaru. His Holiness Sri 1008 Sri Sujayanidhi Theertha Sripadangalavaru of Sripadaraja Math inaugurated the celebrations by performing the traditional flag hoisting, Go Puja, Sri Lakshmi Puja and Dhana-Dhanya Puja, followed by the ceremonial lighting of lamps.
On the occasion, special rituals were performed at the Brindavana of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy. The priests adorned the Brindavana with a special Ratna Kavacha and performed Maha Mangalarati.
More than 6,000 devotees visited the Math and participated in the celebrations. Annadana was organised for the devotees with the support of the Mutt staff, volunteers and devotees.
Sri Nandakishora Acharya, priest of the Math, said the celebrations witnessed a large gathering of devotees and a series of special religious programmes.
Senior journalist Sudheendra Rao, R.K. Vadindra Acharya, sevadars, devotees and several dignitaries were present at the inaugural programme.
As part of the celebrations, students presented a devotional Hari Bhajana programme under the direction of Vidushi Smt. Geetha Battad. Various special religious and cultural programmes were also held during the day.
The devotees who participated in the celebrations received teertha prasada, fruits and mantrakshata and sought the blessings of Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy.
