Mobile cardiac screening initiative to cover 6,000+ people across Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna
Bengaluru, September 29, 2026: SPARSH Hospitals has launched ‘Hrudaya Ratha – Screening on Wheels’, a 60-day community outreach programme aimed at taking free cardiac screening and consultation closer to people in Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna.
The initiative was inaugurated by Sri U. T. Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, in the presence of Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Founder, Chairman and Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon, SPARSH Hospitals; Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty, Lead Consultant–Cardiologist and Medical Director, SPARSH Hospital, Infantry Road; Dr. Sandeep R. M., COO, SPARSH Hospital, RR Nagar, along with senior doctors and members of the hospital’s leadership team.
Under the initiative, SPARSH Hospitals plans to screen more than 6,000 people over 60 days, including over 3,000 adults and 3,000 children below 10 years of age. The programme will provide free ECG, echocardiogram and cardiac consultation to beneficiaries covered under the outreach programme.
A key focus of Hrudaya Ratha will be the early identification of heart-related conditions among children below 10 years. Children diagnosed with cardiac disease through the screening programme and found to require surgery may be considered for free cardiac surgery at SPARSH Hospitals, subject to medical assessment and applicable eligibility criteria.
For adults who require further cardiac evaluation, the hospital will offer a special discounted angiogram package at ₹19,999, subject to medical assessment and eligibility.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil said healthcare should be accessible and inclusive, irrespective of geography or circumstances. He said Hrudaya Ratha reflects SPARSH Hospitals’ commitment to taking healthcare beyond hospital premises and closer to the communities that need it.
The mobile screening programme will follow a structured weekly schedule, excluding public holidays. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will focus on screenings through Primary Health Centres (PHCs), while Wednesdays will be dedicated to corporate screening programmes, promoting a preventive approach to heart health.
Dr. (Prof.) Ranjan Shetty said timely screening can help identify cardiac concerns at an early stage and enable people to seek appropriate medical care. He emphasised the need to make regular heart-health checks an important part of preventive healthcare.

He highlighted the programme’s special focus on identifying heart disease among children and facilitating free cardiac surgery for eligible children who require surgical intervention.
Through Hrudaya Ratha, SPARSH Hospitals aims to increase awareness about heart health, encourage timely cardiac evaluation and promote preventive cardiac care among communities in and around Bidadi, Ramanagara and Channapatna.
