A book under the title”Kaveri Dispute — A Historical Perspective”by C Chandrashekar, IPS, Retd was released by Sri SM Krishna, former minister of external affairs, G o I and formerCM of Karnataka at Chithrakala Parishath on the 12th.

KPSC and Jayaprakash, CE, CNNL (Retd).

The book which has been written after extensive research covers a time span of about 410 years between 1608 and 2018.
The British arrived at Surat in 1608 ostensibly for trade. The SC gave its ruling on the appeals filed by the states in Feb 2018.

The book authored by
Sri C Chandrashekar IPS Retd, does not stop with an in-depth study of the dispute over sharing of water but also goes into aspects of water management at the national level as the country is plagued by floods and droughts that have gained features of permanence.

Sri SM Krishna, said that the book is so exhaustive that it can be used as book of reference as far as subject is concerned.

Sri C Chandrashekar had served as a teacher in Mysore University for five years before joining the police in 1977 and retired as IGP in Karnataka police.
