Bengaluru, October 31, 2026: The third edition of the Karnataka Softball Premier League (KSPL) is set to begin on November 1 at Acharya Stadium, Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru. The tournament, which will continue until November 23, will feature 32 teams representing Karnataka’s 31 districts, bringing together talented softball cricket players from across the state.
With a total prize pool of ₹70 lakh, the 23-day tournament aims to provide a bigger platform for emerging players and promote softball cricket in Karnataka. The winning team will receive ₹30 lakh, while the second-place team will get ₹20 lakh. The two runner-up teams will receive ₹10 lakh each.
KSPL was established to identify and encourage sporting talent from rural and urban areas by providing equal opportunities based on players’ skills, performance and dedication. The league’s guiding principle is to ensure that talent takes precedence over influence, favouritism and politics.
The first edition, held in 2024, witnessed the participation of 699 players across 32 teams, while the second edition in 2025 attracted 512 players representing the state’s districts. Building on the success of the previous tournaments, Season 3 is expected to generate greater interest among players and sports enthusiasts.
Kannada film actors Darling Krishna and Aindrita Ray have been announced as the brand ambassadors for this season. Their association is expected to help popularise the sport and encourage greater participation among youngsters.
The matches will be telecast live on Sony Sports Kannada, while viewers can also watch the tournament through the WatchNTX OTT platform, enabling cricket enthusiasts across Karnataka to follow the competition.
KSPL founder Dr. Gangadhara Raju said the league was established with the vision of creating opportunities for deserving players and helping them progress to national and international sporting platforms. President Siddaram I. Desai is leading the league’s organisational and administrative initiatives, with a focus on strengthening its future development.
The inaugural programme is expected to be attended by distinguished guests, including Karnataka Minister Vijayananda Kashappanavar, Karnataka State Commission for Women Chairperson Dr. Nagalakshmi Choudhary, MLA S.R. Vishwanath and other senior officials.
Through Season 3, KSPL aims to strengthen the sporting culture in Karnataka and provide talented players with an opportunity to showcase their abilities on a wider platform.
