
Bengaluru, July 2026: SPARSH Hospital, Hennur Road, has become the first hospital in India and the first in the world to receive the prestigious Gold Level Certification from the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), marking a significant milestone in the country’s emergency healthcare landscape. The recognition was presented during the International Conference on Emergency Medicine (ICEM) held in Hamburg, Germany.
The certification acknowledges the hospital’s Emergency Department for meeting globally accepted standards in emergency medicine, highlighting its excellence in trauma care, critical care, patient safety, and emergency response systems.

The recognition follows an intensive three-day assessment conducted in December 2025 under IFEM’s internationally accepted accreditation framework in collaboration with TASNEEF, a leading certification and classification body in the Middle East. During the evaluation, the Emergency Department recorded an exceptional score of 99.6 per cent after being assessed across emergency preparedness, triage protocols, clinical governance, patient safety, infrastructure, and rapid response mechanisms.

The Emergency Department is equipped to manage trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, paediatric emergencies, and other life-threatening conditions using globally accepted protocols.
