Special Mahabhisheka, Pada Puja and Annasantarpana mark Poorvaradhana celebrations in Bengaluru
Bengaluru, August 29, 2026: The Poorvaradhana of Sri Raghavendra Swamy was observed with devotion and religious fervour at the Nanjanagoodu Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Jayanagar 5th Block, Bengaluru, as part of the 355th Aradhana Mahotsava of Sri Raghavendra Teertha Gurusarvabhouma.
A special Mahabhisheka was performed at the Brindavana using 108 litres of milk, 108 litres of curd and Phala Panchamrita prepared from five varieties of fruits. The rituals were conducted in accordance with the directions of His Holiness Sri 1008 Sri Subudhendra Teertha Sripadangalavaru and under the leadership of senior Mutt administrator R.K. Vadindra Acharya.
Priests Goggi Ramachandra Achar and Krishnacharya performed the Abhisheka, following which the sacred prasada was distributed among devotees. A recital of Sri Raghavendra Stotra and Ashtottara was also held by the team led by Shashikumar.
The golden throne of Guru Rayaru was specially decorated with flowers, while prayers and Pada Puja were offered. Devotees participating in the seva took Sankalpa and offered fruits to the Guru. Shesha Vastra, Parimala Prasada, Mahaprasada, fruits and Mantrakshate were distributed to devotees, along with Annasantarpana.
Thousands of devotees visited the Mutt to seek the darshan and blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. The organisers made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth movement of devotees and hassle-free darshan. Devotees appreciated the Mutt administration for maintaining orderly arrangements without overcrowding and for facilitating the distribution of prasada.
Sudha Murty takes part in seva
A notable aspect of the Poorvaradhana was the participation of Smt. Sudha Murty, Founder of Infosys Foundation and a devotee of Sri Raghavendra Swamy. Rather than merely attending the celebrations, she actively participated in seva by helping clean and prepare fruits and vegetables required for the Aradhana rituals.
Her simple and hands-on participation in the service of Guru Rayaru drew appreciation from devotees present at the Mutt.
According to Nandakishore Acharya, the celebrations brought together devotees in large numbers and provided an opportunity for them to participate in the religious services and receive the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamy.
To facilitate darshan for devotees, Honey Maitreesh also arranged an LED screen through which devotees could view the proceedings conveniently.
The Poorvaradhana concluded with devotees receiving Padodaka, Mantrakshate and prasada, seeking the blessings of Guru Rayaru.
