Vasan Eye Care Hospital Organises Safe Diwali Eye Awareness Programme in Jayanagar

BENGALURU, November 5, 2026: With the aim of protecting children from eye injuries during Diwali celebrations, Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Jayanagar, organised a special ‘Safe Diwali Eye Awareness Programme’ to educate children about firecracker safety and essential eye care precautions.

The awareness initiative, being conducted from November 4 to 12, is exclusively designed for children below 15 years of age. Students from Bangalore International School, accompanied by their teachers, actively participated in the programme.

The initiative focused on highlighting the potential eye hazards associated with firecrackers, flying sparks and chemical exposure, while stressing the importance of preventive measures to ensure a safe and injury-free festive season.

As part of the programme, the hospital’s medical team interacted with the students and explained practical ways to protect their eyes while celebrating Diwali. The doctors also highlighted the immediate first-aid measures to be followed in case of an eye injury and emphasised the need for timely medical attention to prevent serious complications.

The programme was attended by Dr. Adarsh S. Naik, Dr. Manohar and Dr. Madhura, who shared valuable insights on eye safety and encouraged children to celebrate the festival responsibly without compromising their health and safety.

Through this initiative, Vasan Eye Care Hospital seeks to strengthen awareness among children, parents and families about firecracker-related eye injuries and reinforce the importance of preventive eye care during festive celebrations.
