Seminar cum Interactive session on the problems faced by the Dimensional & Decorative Stone Quarrying and Processing Industry” on 08.01.2019 at Hotel Le-Meridien, Bengaluru ‘Stone quarrying is facing difficulty’

Bengaluru: Dimensional and decorative stone quarrying and allied industries in Karnataka is facing difficulty with non supportive policies of the government. Karnataka being the No1 state in this sector has not only lost its charm and place but lakhs of people are getting unemployed because of the stringent policies said Mr.S.Krishnaprasad General Secretary of Federation of Indian Granites & Stone Industry (FICGI).

Speaking at a press conference on Friday he highlighted the problems faced by the Industry and informed Seminar cum Interactive session is organised on the problems faced by the Dimensional & Decorative Stone Quarrying and Processing Industry” on 08.01.2019 at Hotel Le-Meridien, Bengaluru.
Seminar will address the various problems faced by the industry and educate the members about the importance of maintenance/following the norms of ecology, forest and wild life etc and will also brief about the latest rules and regulations. The Seminar is supported by Ministry of Mines, Government of India, Government of Karnataka, Federation of Indian Mineral Industries, CAPEXIL and Geological Society of India he said.
Gurushastrimutt, Chairman Seminars & Conferences said the Seminar will be addressed by eminent speakers in the field of their specialization related to the Natural Stone Industry, followed by group discussions and recommendations. The recommendations will be later submitted to the government. The seminar will be in two sessions and Rajashekhar B. Patil, Minister for Mines and Geology, Govt. of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the seminar. Rajendra Kumar Kataria, IAS, Secretary to Government, (Mines & MSME), C & I Dept. GoK, . N.L. inaugural function.

The next International Granites and Stone Fair — STONA 2020 from 6th to 9th February 2020 at Bangalore International Exhibition Center, Bengaluru Shastrimutt informed.
Sunil K Arora Federation Vice President and Dr.T.N.Venugopal DMG & Chairman MEAI Bengaluru chapter also spoke about the problems faced by the Industry.
