Awareness Program to Government School Children

Statement by Dr. Rtn Sameer Hariani., District Governor 2019-20, Rotary District 3190 :

Rotary District 3190, has 145 clubs with nearly 6000 professionals as members, working in 7 revenue districts of Karnataka & 1 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Under Health program this Rotary year district has the unique distinction of taking up communities where our clubs are located.
We have taken up development of nearly 250 schools, providing support for their infrastructure – like constructing school rooms; gender specific toilets; wash stations; drinking water facility etc.

Statement by Rtn Nagendra K.S., Past District Governor, Rotary District 3190 :
In continuation of the WASH program of UNICEF, RI District 3190, has come up with a concept to take up huge awareness drive or rally to educate the children on the aspects of personal hygiene and thus help improve their general health; attendance & improved results.
In this program members of Rotary and Inner Wheel, Rotaract Clubs of will reach out to nearly 800 Government Schools and provide a predesigned awareness program on Hand Wash, Personal Hygiene and Cleanliness, including menstrual hygiene management. This program will provide a positive behavioural change amongst children.
Trained Rotary and other Volunteers will reach out to about 800 to 1000, Bangalore Urban, Rural, and other District, Government Schools on the 6th and 7th of January 2019. The program will reach out to nearly 1.5 lakh children and provide them awareness on necessary Hygiene matters. For the awareness drive to be effective and impactful, each school is being provided with a `Hand Wash and Awareness Kit’.

Mother India Care is celebrating 31st National Road Safety Week

Mother India Care is celebrating 31st National Road Safety Week and this year it is being observed from 11th to 17th January nationwide by government, private sector civil society. The theme for this year national road safety week is “Bringing the change with youth power. Observing the week provides an opportunity to make road users realize the importance of road safety in life which is a very serious issue and very less attention is being paid. We are promoting our national and dream project “Road Safety is Life Safety with a noble goal of zero death and no serious injury in road crash in India. This is our dream project and this dream will come true on that day when all road users realize that “Road Safety is Life Safety. People realize the importance of road safety only after the tragedy of road crash * incident, not before that, not at all. Road Safety is a common and shared responsibility which needs involvement of all. Some stake holders are doing their bit on road safety during road safety week. Mother India Care is inviting all the stakeholders of road safety to collaborate, participate & contribute for awareness building, capacity building & actual implementation of road safety measures & management so at to make Indian roads safer. VFM Honda has accepted our combined effort invite call for road safety initiatives and activities. VFM motors is the only Automobile dealer in India who is having a practice / test track for two wheeler drivers. They conduct test on this track before releasing the 2 wheeler to ensure driving skill of two wheeler drivers. Mother India Care and VFM Honda are jointly conducting a week long safe riding contest event i.e. “Bangalore Safest Rider” (BSR) at Geddalahalli practice / test track which is situated on Hennur road at a distance of 12 Kms from MG Road. In this BSR contest event we are providing opportunity for 2 wheeler riders to improve their safe riding skill instead of over speeding and stunt showing on road. The winner of the “Bangalore Safest Rider” contest will be awarded with a cash prize and other special privileges. Participants will get certificate and special privileges. We will also be providing road users ranking to participants. During this NRSW Week we are conducting awareness campaigns & activities on road safety that includes road safety pledge signing, road safety training, road users journey assessment, road users ranking etc. We strongly feel that road safety activities should not be limited to a week long, it should be a constant process and Mother India Care is committed for that. Traffic congestion is increasing every day and incidents of road crash and road rage are also increasing and road users are dying on roads every day. Key stake holders should take on more responsibility to improve road safety standard. Media should do its bit to make all road users realize for the importance of road safety in life. Road users should start this new year with the 3 main things which are Love Safety, Marry Rules & Divorce Speed, and this safe riding contest has been included in the road safety activities to improve safe riding skills. We wholeheartedly appreciate and thanks our partners, supporters & volunteers for their contribution to our road safety initiatives. We also thank all the media persons for coming here and we are expecting media support to make all road users realize the importance of road safety in support of vision zero goal.

ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾನಪದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನು ಶ್ರೀಮಂತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾರಸ್ವತ ಲೋಕದ ಹಿರಿಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾದ ಎಚ್ . ಎಲ್ . ನಾಗೇಗೌಡರದು ಬಹುಮುಖ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ , ಕವಿಯಾಗಿ , ಕಥೆಗಾರರಾಗಿ , ಕಾದಂಬರಿಕಾರರಾಗಿ , ಅನುವಾದಕರಾಗಿ , ಜಾನಪದ ಸಂಗ್ರಾಹಕ , ಸಂಶೋಧಕರಾಗಿ , ನಿರ್ಮಾತೃವಾಗಿ ನಾಗೇಗೌಡರು ನಾಡಿಗೆ ಬಹು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ . ಕನ್ನಡ ನಾಡಿನ 20ನೆಯ ಶತಮಾನದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆಯ ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನಾಗೇಗೌಡರು ರೂಪಿಸಿದ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕ , ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು – ಮೈಸೂರು ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮನಗರದ ಬಳಿ ಸುಮಾರು 15 ಎಕರೆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಲಾಗಿರುವ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕವು ನಾಗೇಗೌಡರ ಕಠಿಣ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮ , ಸಂಘಟನಾ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಫಲವಾಗಿ 1994ರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 12 ರಂದು ಆರಂಭವಾಯಿತು . ಕಳೆದ 25 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕವ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಿನ ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲೆ , ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ , ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ , ಜಾನಪದ ಗೀತ ಗಾಯನ , ಜಾನಪದ ಕ್ರೀಡೆ , ಜಾನಪದ ವಸ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಕರಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹ , ಜಾನಪದ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂರಕ್ಷಿ , ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ . ‘ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕ ‘ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಂದಿದೆ .

ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಜಾನಪದ ವಸ್ತುಸಂಗ್ರಹಾಲಯವು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿಯಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ , ಇದು ಜಾನಪದ ಕಲಾವಿದರ ತರಬೇತಿ , ಕಲಾ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಚಟುವಟಿಕೆಗಳ ಕೇಂದ್ರವೂ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ . ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜಾನಪದ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ – ಸಂವರ್ಧಪ್ರಸಾರ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತವಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜಾನಪದ ಪರಿಷತ್ತು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 2020ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ಎರಡನೇ ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನಾಂಕ 7 , 8 ಮತ್ತು 9ರ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ ಚಾನಪದ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಹಬ್ಬ ಮತ್ತು ‘ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕೋತ್ಸವ ವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ . ಈ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಹಬ್ಬ ಮತ್ತು ಲೋಕೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮತ್ತು ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲವೂ ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ ಸನ್ಮಾನ , ಕರಕುಶಲ ಕಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಳ , ಆಹಾರ ಮೇಳ , ಜನಪದ ಕಲೆಗಳ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಗಳು ನಡೆಯಲಿವೆ . ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕರಕುಶಲ ಕರಿಗಳು , ಕಲಾವಿದರುಗಳಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ . ಹೊರ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಕಲಾವಿದರುಗಳೂ ಈ ಉತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ . ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಹೊಸ ವರ್ಷದ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ . ಈ ಕ್ಯಾಲೆಂಡರ್‌ನ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶ ನಾಗೇಗೌಡರ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು , ಜಾನಪದ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸಿವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾವಿದರಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಣೆ ತಂದುಕೊಡುವುದು ಆಗಿದೆ .

All India Industrial Strike on the slogan of Save the Industries – Save the Workers

At the call of the All India Joint Committee of Trade Unions, Karnataka Workers Union will actively participate in the All India Strike on 8″ January, 2020. Due to wrong economic policies of the BJP led government, small and medium scale industries are facing problems through out India. Many of the industries are closed and many are on the verge of closure. Especially automobile manufacturing and allied industries are in distress and lakhs of workers of this sector are facing the job security problems. Closures, lay-offs. retrenchments, compulsory holidays, compulsory leave without wages arc daily routine in this sector and lakhs of workers in this sector are in trouble due to job loss and loss of wages.

BJP government came to power in the center with a promise of creating 10 crore jobs for the youths, but now Modi government is very much silent regarding saving the jobs of the youths through out India leave alone creating new jobs. Due to job loss, unemployment, price rise the common people are on the brink of starvation. By putting forth the issue of Article 370 in Kashmiar, Mandir-Masjid issue and Citizenship Registration, the central government is diverting the minds of the common people from their day to day hardships.

The present BJP led central government is making scrious cfforts to amend the present labour acts and laws in favour of the multinational companies and big industrial houses of this nation. The present labour laws and acts came into existence due to century long struggles of the working class of this nation. The central government is trying to destabilise the Employees Provident Fund Scheme and to swallow the crores of rupees deposited in employees provident fund account. Instead of pension from Provident Fund Scheme, the central government is trying to introduce some other pension scheme which is not beneficial. Central government is trying to privatise the Employees State Insurance Scheme, which is one of the best health beneficial scheme in the world. All the central governments from the past many years are very much silent regarding the year long demands of the working class of this nation such as amendment to Payment of Gratuity Act, abolition of wage ceiling regarding Payment of Bonus, minimum pension of Rs.5000-00 from PF scheme, nation wide common minimum wage of Rs.21,000-00, abolition of contract labour system and strict implementation of Equal Wages to Equal Work act for contract workers. Moreover, the central government is very much silent regarding introducing any plans for the industries and workers who are in distress due to the present economic situation As per the call given by the Joint Committee of Trade Unions, workers of Electronies City, Bommasandra, Attibele, Jigani, Veerasandra, Peenya, Nelamangala, Dabaspet industrial area in Bangalore, Bidadi industrial area in Ramnagar District, Narasapur industrial arca in Kolar District, Nanjangud industrial area in Mysore District will participate in this All India Strike on January, 8″, 2020 on the slogan of Save the Industries-Save the Workers. On 8-1-2010 workers wil take out a massive march from Minerva Circle to Raj Bhavan at 10 a.m. and a memorandum regarding demands of the All India Strike will be submitted to the Governor of Karnataka.
