On 23rd March, a lot of futures and destinies were rewritten in India. Businesses, people, transport – life, even – went into a lockdown mode. It took one week to kick in to people but kick in it did. That one was in this for the long haul.
Among all the businesses that were hit and hit hard, was the Event Management Industry.
As per reports shared by event management groups, 93% of all events to be held between April and July have been cancelled. A huge number of professionals from this industry – Script- writers, Video Editors, Technicians and skilled & non-skilled Workers – who depend on these events for a living are now in limbo and have no idea of when and how the foreseeable future will open up for them once again. Event Management professionals however, being who they are, people used to handling thousands of foreseen and unforeseen worries at any given time in course of executing and running events smoothly, are not fazed by this, and have taken this in their stride.
In this need of the hour, they have joined hands together and decided to show the true business spirit by converting this problematic situation into an opportunity to adapt and explore new avenues of conducting events. The ’One India Concert’, a one of its kind of events where more 50 Artists are coming together on 1 Virtual platform to give scintillating power-packed performances on 31st May, which happens to be World Event Managers Day too.
