BENGALURU, November 4, 2026: With the aim of protecting children from festival-related eye injuries, Vasan Eye Care Hospital, Bommanahalli, organised a special ‘Safe Diwali Eye Awareness Programme’ to educate parents and children on celebrating Diwali safely.
The initiative, being conducted from November 4 to 12, 2026, is exclusively aimed at children below 15 years of age. It focuses on creating awareness about eye injuries caused by firecrackers, flying sparks and chemical exposure, while highlighting the importance of preventive measures.
Doctors from the hospital interacted with the public and explained essential safety precautions that children should follow while handling or being around firecrackers. They also highlighted the immediate steps to be taken in case of an eye injury, stressing the importance of seeking prompt medical attention rather than attempting home remedies.

Dr. Veena, Dr. Varsha and Dr. Mehak Bhandari participated in the programme and shared practical guidance on protecting children’s eyesight during the festive season.
Through this initiative, Vasan Eye Care Hospital aims to encourage responsible celebrations and ensure that children enjoy a safe and injury-free Diwali. The hospital has urged parents to remain vigilant and prioritise children’s eye safety during the festivities.
