Govt. of Karnataka and British Council ink partnership to equip children with life skills through Premier League Primary Stars project

Bengaluru, 23 October 2024: British Council, the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural exchange, in partnership with the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Karnataka have signed an agreement to pilot a programme aimed at supporting primary school teachers and coaches in improving learning outcomes in physical education and personal, social, health, and economic education.

Premier League Primary Stars in India uses the appeal of the Premier League and the British Council’s trusted global network to support teachers and other educators to deliver high-quality physical education and sports. It helps teachers to create a supportive learning environment where children can take part in and enjoy more sport and physical activity, helping them gain the life skills they need to reach their goals. The programme, which has already been delivered in Delhi, Goa, and Odisha, will now be implemented in Karnataka.

The initiative will be piloted with 70 Primary/Physical Education (PE) teachers in Karnataka. It aims to equip educators working with children aged 6 to 11 with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to deliver high-quality PE and sport. By raising awareness on the significant benefits of sports and physical education in enhancing educational outcomes, the programme will cultivate a cohort of trainers who can support their peers in delivering exceptional PE and sporting experiences.

The Operational Alliance Agreement (OAA) was signed by Dr. K.V. Thrilok Chandra., I.A.S. Commissioner for School Education, and Janaka Pushpanathan, Director South India, The British Council, in the presence of Sri. Madhu Bangarappa, Hon’ble Minister for Primary & Secondary Education, Sri Ritesh Kumar Singh Principal Secretary School Education Govt of Karnataka and James Godber Deputy Head of Mission British Deputy High Commission Bengaluru. The agreement will complement the existing overarching agreement between the Government of Karnataka and British Council India to work together in strengthening partnership work in Education.

This collaboration will empower our teachers with the skills and confidence needed to deliver engaging and high-quality sports education, enriching the learning experience for students across the state. By integrating physical activity into daily learning, we aim to not only improve teaching standards but also nurture well-rounded development, equipping young learners with essential life skills and a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.”

Ashoka University Announces Scholarships for All Young India Fellows in Class of 2025-26: Applications Now Open!

Bangalore, October 23, 2024: Ashoka University, India’s premier interdisciplinary higher education and research institution, today announced that all Fellows selected for the upcoming cohort of the Young India Fellowship (Class of 2025-26) will receive partial or full scholarships. The admissions process opened on *October 15, 2024*, offering scholarships ranging from 25% to a full 100% waiver covering tuition, residence, and meals along with stipends for additional financial assistance. The prestigious Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship will also continue to be awarded in the Class of 2026.

Currently, 81% of the Young India Fellows are either partially or fully funded with 60% of the cohort benefiting from a full tuition waiver or more. Notably about one-third of the Class of 2025 Fellows identify as first-generation college goers, and 61% as female. With this new initiative, Ashoka University is furthering its commitment to making the Fellowship more accessible to exceptional and deserving individuals coming from all walks of life. The increase in scholarships for the current and next cohort has been made possible primarily through the generous support of HDFC Bank.

*Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process: YIF Class of 2026*

The Class of 2026 will comprise around 100 Fellows. Candidates of all age groups and nationalities, across diverse academic, professional, geographical and socioeconomic backgrounds, who have a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline by July 2025 or earlier (can be a final-year student at the time of application) are eligible to apply for the YIF.

The admissions process opened on *October 15, 2024* and is split into two rounds, with the first application deadline being *January 5, 2025.* Candidates are encouraged to apply early, even within a round, to partake in the rolling personal interviews process.

Aspiring candidates can apply by visiting *apply.ashoka.edu.in* to register and complete the online application. Following holistic assessment of applications, a number of candidates will be shortlisted for personal interviews. Additionally, some of these shortlisted candidates may be invited to interview for the Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship.

All Fellows who receive an offer of admission are guaranteed a minimum 25% tuition waiver, with some also being awarded the prestigious Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship. All admitted and waitlisted candidates will have the opportunity to apply for need-based Financial Aid, which goes upto a full-waiver on the entire fee along with stipends for additional assistance.

ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯ (ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ) ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಗೌರವಾನ್ವಿತ ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಸಪ್ತಪೀಠವು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಸರಿಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಅವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ, ಅತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಸಮರ್ಥನೀಯ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿರುವುದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನ್ಯಾಯದ ಕಗೊಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಾರಣ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ 101 ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಸ್ತುನಿಷ್ಟ ಅಂಕಿ-ಅಂಶಗಳ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಕೊರತೆ ಇದ್ದು, ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದೆ, ಕೆಲವು ಪಟ್ಟಭದ್ರ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿಗಳ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದು ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಏಕಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೊರಟಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನಡೆಯನ್ನು ಅಖಿಲ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕುಳುವ ಮಹಾಸಂಘವು ತೀವ್ರವಾಗಿ ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಅನ್ವಯ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ 101 ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಹಂಚಿಕೆಯ ಕುರಿತಾದ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯವನ್ನು ಖಾತ್ರಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಮರ್ಥನೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ರೋಢಿಕರಿಸಿ, ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಿ ತಜ್ಞರ ವರದಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಹೊರತು, ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ದಮನಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವಕಾಶ ವಂಚಿತ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ, ಕೊರಮ-ಕೊರಚ-ಕೊರವ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಅಖಿಲ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕುಳುವ ಮಹಾಸಂಘವು ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ಹಕ್ಕೊತ್ತಾಯಗಳು

1. ಮುಂಬರುವ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಅಮಸಮರ್ಥನೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತಾರ್ಕಿಕ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಏಕಪಕ್ಷೀಯ ನಿರ್ಧಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ಮಾನ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.

2. 2011ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಅಂಕಿಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸದೇ, ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಿನ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ (ಜಾತಿ ಗಣತಿ-2016 / ಕಾಂತರಾಜು ಆಯೋಗದ ವರದಿ)ಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಬಹಿರಂಗಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಸದರಿ ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಣಿಸಬೇಕು.

3. ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿಯ 101 ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ 51 ಜಾತಿಗಳು ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮುಕ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇವುಗಳ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದಿರುವಿಕೆ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ, ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತಾದ ಸಮರ್ಥನೀಯ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು (ಎಂಪೆರಿಕಲ್ ಡೇಟಾ) ಕ್ರೋಡಿಕರಿಸಿ, ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸಲು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾನೂನು ಪರಿಣಿತಿಯುಳ್ಳ ತಜ್ಞರ ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ರಚಿಸಬೇಕು.

4. ಅಂತಹ ತಜ್ಞರ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ವರದಿ ಪಡೆದು 101 ಜಾತಿಗಳ ಅಹವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಆಲಿಸಿ, ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸಂಘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಹಾಗೂ ಚಿಂತಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಲೋಚನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ನಂತರ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಒಳಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯ (ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ) ತೀರ್ಮಾನ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ 101 ಪ.ಜಾತಿಯ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 51 ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಾದ ಹಂದಿಜೋಗಿ, ಸಿಳ್ಳೇಕ್ಯಾಶಾಸ್, ಬುಡ್ಗಜಂಗಮ, ಸುಡುಗಾಡುಸಿದ್ದ, ಚನ್ನದಾಸರ್, ದೊಂಬರು, ಘಂಟಿಚೋರ್, ಕೊರಮ, ಕೊರಚ, ಮಾಂಗ್ ಗಾರುಡಿ, ಮುತ್ರಿ, ಅಬೇಲ, ಹಳ್ಳೇರ್, ನಲಿಕೆಯವ, ಸಿಂಧೋಳ್ಳು ಚಿಂಧೋಳ್ಳು, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ 51 ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ವರ್ಗದ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು, ಮೇದ, ಹಕ್ಕಿಪಿಕ್ಕಿ, ಇರುಳಿಗ, ರಾಜಗೊಂಡ, ಪಾರಿ, ಚೆಂಚು, ಹರಿಣಿಶಿಕಾರಿ, ಮಲೆಕುಡಿಯ, ಕಮ್ಮಾರ, ಹರಣಿಶಿಕಾರಿ, ದುಂಗಿಗರಾಸಿಯಾ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ 23 ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಹೀಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 74 ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಟೆಂಟು, ಗುಡಿಸಲು, ಹಾಡಿ ಪೋಡುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾರಂಪರಿಕ ವೃತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ ಅಸಂಘಟಿತರಾಗಿ ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವರು ಕಳೆದ 70 ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಸಿಗದೇ ಔದ್ಯೋಗಿಕ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕವಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲೂ ಇವರ ದತ್ತಾಂಶವಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತರಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಂದುವರೆದು ದೇವಿಂದರ್ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಜಾಬ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತದ ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದ ಸಂಗತಿ.

ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯಾಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ..

1. ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ “ಅಂತರ್ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದಿರುವಿಕೆ ಯನ್ನು (interse backwardness) ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ/ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಇದನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಬೇಕು.

2. “ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳ (empirical data) ಆಧಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯದ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು.

3. ಆನಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯದ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ಆಧಾರಿಸಿ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡಗಳ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.

4. ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂವಿಧಾನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಬೇಕು. ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನಾನುಕೂಲ ಮಾಡುವ ಅಥವಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಕಾಶ ಮತ್ತು ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಗಿಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಾರದು.

5. ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ಮಾಡಬಹುದಾದ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಲಿದೆ.

ಘನ ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಆದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮೇಲಿನ ಅಂಶಗಳಿರುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಈ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸಬೇಕು.

ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಅಂತರ್ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದಿರುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಾತಿನಿಧ್ಯದ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿ ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇದನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಲು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಬಳಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ, ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ, ಸುಲನೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ವರದಿಗಳು ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ತಲಾ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಉದ್ಯೋಗ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳ ವಾಸ್ತವಿಕ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಬಳಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಜಾತಿಗಳನ್ನು ವರ್ಗೀಕರಿಸಲು ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕುಲಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಾಯನ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮತ್ತಿತರ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕಾರಗೊಳಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಒಪ್ಪಿತ ವರದಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಚ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಮಾರ್ಗಸೂಚಿಗಳ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ. ವಿವಿಧ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ವ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾಗಬಹುದು. ಕಾನೂನು ಮತ್ತು ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ತಜ್ಞರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಕೂಡ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ.

ಈ ವರ್ಗೀಕರಣ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿ ಆಗುವಂತೆ ಹರಿಯಾಣ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹೊಸ ಆಯೋಗ ರಚಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ತಿಳಿದ ಸಂಗತಿ,

ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಮ್ಮತ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಿಧಾನಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಂಶಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹೊಸದೊಂದು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಯಂತೆ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ಎಸ್.ಸಿ/ಎಸ್‌.ಟಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳ ಆಯೋಗಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು ಆದರೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಕಳೆದ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್.ಸಿ/ಎಸ್‌.ಟಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಆಯೋಗದ ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗದ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿಗಳ ಆಯೋಗ ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ ಅದೇ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್.ಸಿ/ಎಸ್.ಟಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಆಯೋಗದ ರಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಎಸ್.ಸಿ/ಎಸ್.ಟಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳಿಗೆ 3% ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ನಮ್ಮ ಎಸ್.ಸಿ/ಎಸ್.ಟಿ ಅಲೆಮಾರಿ ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಆಧರ್ಶಯಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ-ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು,ಬಿ.ಹೆಚ್.ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್-ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ (ಸಂ), ಹಾಗೂ ಬಸವರಾಜ ನಾರಾಯಣಕರ-ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಯವರು ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕ್ಲಬ್ ಆಫ್ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

Child Help Foundation Inaugurated Baby Feeding Centers in Bangalore Metro Stations

22nd October ’24, Bangalore: Child Help Foundation (CHF), a pan-India, non-profit organisation, in collaboration with Bridgenext, inaugurated two Baby Feeding Centres (BFC) at Majestic and Yeshwantpur metro stations in Bengaluru, Karnataka for nursing mothers and infants, becoming the first metro stations in India to have baby feeding centres.

The Baby Feeding Centre (BFC) initiative provides comfortable and private spaces for nursing mothers and their infants, addressing the discomfort many women face when breastfeeding in public. With these centres, mothers can travel freely without worrying about breastfeeding in public spaces.

Child Help Foundation has established 27 Baby Feeding Centres across India, beginning with Palghar Railway Station in Maharashtra. Other centres in Maharashtra include locations such as Boisar Railway Station, Kalyan and Kurla Railway Stations, Sir J.J. Hospital, Cama and Albless Hospital, St. George’s Hospital, Urban Health Centre in Bandra, Pune Railway Station, Kashimira Police Station, Krantisinh Hospital in Satara, and Palghar Rural Hospital. In Bihar, a centre has been set up at Katihar Railway Station. West Bengal’s centre is located at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. In Kerala, the centres include Lakeshore Hospital, General Hospital in Ernakulam, Chottanikkara Temple, and Shornur Railway Station. Karnataka hosts multiple centres, including Sir C.V. Raman General Hospital (two centres), Sir Atal Bihari Vajpayee College, Taluk General Hospital in Hoskote, and Majestic and Yeshwantpur Metro Stations. Tamil Nadu has centres at the Institute of Child Health and Hospital for Children and the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Egmore, Chennai. Additional centres are located at Visakhapatnam Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh and Civil Hospital, Sector 10, in Gurugram, Haryana.
