Force Motors ‘Mobile Dispensary’ treats 27,066 patients, eases pressure on the Healthcare fraternity in Karnataka against the COVID 19 battle

Checked and referred over 34 suspected COVID—19 patients to the government hospitals across Karnataka

Bengaluru, 4^th May 2020: Presently, there is immense pressure on the doctors and medical staff due to increasing positive cases daily. To address this issue, automotive major Force Motors in association with the Bhartiya Jain Sanghatan has initiated a mobile doorstep dispensary facility “Doctor at Your Doorstep” in Karnataka.

This initiative started on 07^th April, with Mobile Dispensary Vans completely equipped with doctors, support staff, medicines moving to various economically weaker localities in Bijapur as per a pre-intimated schedule. Further, 24 mobile dispensaries has been treating people every day in other cities in Karnataka. The team of doctors and medics with these vans are fully equipped to identify COVID-19 symptoms and directly infected suspect cases to the designated hospitals.

All the medicines that are prescribed or given out on free of charge basis. Mobile units can check 2,500 people every day and can examine the symptoms of around 500 patients in a day. Doctors in the vans monitor patients for cold and flu conditions and also inform patients about preventive measures to be taken against coronavirus spread. Over 27,066 residents have been checked and more than 34 suspected COVID-19 patients were transferred to government hospitals in the last 28 days. This service will continue until Coronavirus is fully contained.

Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director, Force Motors said “COVID 19 has created huge pressure on doctors and medical staff. We are proud to be associated with this noble initiative”.

He further added “Apart from this initiative our group (Dr. Abhay Firodia Group) has earmarked Rs 25 Crores to support COVID-19 relief activities. This deployment will be aimed at supporting upgradation of health care infrastructure, enhancing blood collection capability, facilitating mobile clinic/testing capabilities and providing free food to the needy”.

The citizens, as well as the local administration, have welcomed this initiative and Force Motors have already extended this initiative to other key markets like Baijapur, Bangalore & Mysore and others cities across Karnataka.

upGrad doubles classes, courses and capacity to deal with the surge in demand for online learning

The edtech major recorded 72% growth in learners onboarded in April – aims to double its revenue by June 2020

Mumbai, May 4th 2020: Edtech major upGrad, India’s largest higher education provider just moved their start dates for all their 40 courses to start every month instead of quarterly, to take on the surge in demand from working professionals. This has more than doubled their course capacity, and each class now has a peak of 1000 learners at a given time.

“The larger the class in online, the more active the peer-to-peer learning and so it’s the inverse of offline learning,” says Ronnie Screwvala, Co-founder and Executive Chairman, upGrad.

“Last month we reached 5, 00,000 learners for our online programs, which is no mean feat in itself. Now take into consideration that our average ARPU is INR 2.5 lakhs. Yet, we are only at the very start of addressing a market of over 100 million working professionals and graduates.” continues Screwvala.

This quarter, upGrad’s revenues will cross an annual run rate of INR 500 Cr with the launch of their Live Learning platform free of cost to multiple colleges and universities, to replicate their classrooms online and address their students during the Covid-19 period seamlessly. The company also separately recorded 10,000 enrollments for their 350 hours of free courses initiated during this period.

They have reached 800 families till now and they hope to reach more Families in need of the Lockdown gets extended.

ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಿಣಯೇ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು‌ ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲಮಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ‌ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಜಲಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರಮೇಶ್ ಜಾರಕಿಹೊಳಿ ಯವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಇಂದು ಕಿಣಯೇ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಗತಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನಾ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಚಿವರು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ನೀರಾವರಿ ನಿಗಮವು ಈ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಡ್ಯಾಂ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಎಡದಂಡೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬಲದಂಡೆ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಸ್ವಾಧೀನಕ್ಕೆ 78 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂಪಾಯಿಗಳ ಅನುದಾನ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಬರುವ ಮಳೆಗಾಲದ ಒಳಗೆ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ‌ಯನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅಭಿಯಂತರರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಕಿಣಯೇ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 10 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ಉದ್ದದ ಎರಡು ಕಾಲುವೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಲದಂಡೆಯ ಕಾಲುವೆ 6 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಕಿಣಯೇ, ರಣಕುಂಡೆ, ಸಂತಿಬಸ್ತವಾಡ, ವಾಘವಾಡೆ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ 2300 ಎಕರೆ ಭೂಮಿ ನೀರಾವರಿಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಲಿದೆ. ಎಡದಂಡೆ ಕಾಲುವೆ 4 ಕಿ.ಮೀ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಕಿಣಯೇ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾದರವಾಡಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ 700 ಎಕರೆ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಒದಗಿಸಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಭೂಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಚುರುಕು ಗೊಳಿಸಿ.

ಒಂದು ಕಾಲುವೆ ವಾಘವಾಡೆ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕೆರೆಗೆ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕಾಲುವೆ ಬಾದರವಾಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕೆರೆ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿದೆ. ಈ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭೂಸ್ವಾಧೀನ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಚುರುಕಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು‌ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವರು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು. ಭೂ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುದಾನದ ಅಡಚಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ರೈತರ ಮನವಿಯಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕಡೆ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು‌ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು‌ ಸಚಿವರು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಹೊಸ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ; ಡಿಪಿಆರ್ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಲು ಸೂಚನೆ:

ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ ಸಚಿವರು ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಿರುವ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ವಿಸ್ತೃತ ಯೋಜನಾ ವರದಿ(ಡಿಪಿಆರ್) ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಕೋವಿಡ್ 19 ಲಾಕ್ ಡೌನ್ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಿನಿಂದ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳು ಸ್ಥಗಿತಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಮುಂಬರುವ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಚುರುಕಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಸಚಿವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ನೀರಾವರಿ ನಿಗಮದ ಉತ್ತರ ವಲಯದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಅರವಿಂದ್ ಕಣಗಿಲ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಇತರೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ರೈತರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
